About the Role
As a Senior Associate – Full Stack AI & ML Applications, you will drive impactful contributions by building, enhancing, and scaling intelligent applications that leverage modern AI and machine learning capabilities. You will be a key member of a cross-functional product and engineering team, collaborating with product managers, AI/ML engineers, DevOps specialists, and business stakeholders.
This role provides the opportunity to work across the full technology stack, integrating AI/ML models into real-world applications, shaping system architecture, and embedding quality and security into every stage of the development lifecycle. You will have the autonomy to innovate, improve engineering practices, and influence technical decisions while delivering high-quality, scalable solutions.
In This Role, You Will
- Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable full stack applications using technologies such as Python, Node.js, React, and Angular
- Collaborate with AI/ML engineers to integrate machine learning models, Generative AI solutions, and AI-driven capabilities into applications
- Build, consume, and maintain RESTful APIs and integrate third-party services and cloud-native components
- Implement responsive, intuitive, and user-friendly UI/UX using modern JavaScript frameworks
- Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code following engineering best practices and standards
- Partner with cross-functional teams including product, AI/ML, and DevOps to ensure seamless feature delivery
- Participate in code reviews, performance tuning, and system design discussions
- Develop and execute unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure application quality and reliability
- Apply DevSecOps practices, including automated testing, vulnerability assessment, and continuous monitoring
- Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to tools, frameworks, and development practices

What You Must Have to Be Considered
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in software development across frontend and backend technologies
- Strong expertise in backend development using Python and Node.js
- Proficiency in frontend development using Angular or ReactJS
- Exposure to AI/ML concepts including Generative AI, large language models (LLMs), RAG architectures, vector databases, and embeddings
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and cloud-native application design
- Solid experience with unit testing, integration testing, and Agile/Scrum-based development
- Hands-on experience with DevSecOps practices including automated security testing and vulnerability management
- Experience working on cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud
- Experience with containerization, deployment, tuning, and optimization using Docker and Kubernetes

These Will Help You Succeed
- Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging systems such as Kafka
- Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow
- Proficiency with database technologies including MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis, and object storage solutions such as S3
- Good understanding of networking fundamentals including HTTP/1, HTTP/2, cookies, and HTTP headers
- Experience using testing frameworks such as Jest and Selenium
- Exposure to ML or data engineering workflows
- Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and scikit-learn
- Experience in software design and architecture, including distributed systems, large-scale system design, and application security
Work Model – Hybrid
We believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 2–3 days per week in a Cognizant office in Bangalore.
