About the role
As a Life Sciences Client Partner, you will make an impact by owning the end-to-end account relationship, driving profitable growth, health and long-term prospects across your assigned Life Sciences accounts, and holding accountability for overall account P&L and senior client relationships. You will be a valued member of the Life Sciences account leadership team and work collaboratively with delivery, operations, finance, service line, innovation and alliance partner teams, and clients.
In this role, you will
- Drive profitable growth by identifying and leading the closure of new, renewal and expansion opportunities in the Life Sciences industry, developing client engagement strategies and quantifying costs of pursuit.
- Own accountability for measurable revenue and profit growth within set timelines, reviewing account metrics regularly with delivery, operations and finance teams and participating in senior management performance reviews.
- Collaborate across Cognizant service lines, innovation teams and business teams to formulate and implement a business plan at account level, while building and tapping alliance partnerships to grow the account.
- Build and sustain relationships with customer decision makers and influencers, ensuring execution and customer satisfaction across all revenue portfolios.
- Shape the thought leadership agenda, drive execution of the innovation agenda for the portfolio, and increase Cognizant's visibility within the account and the Life Sciences industry.
- Consistently demonstrate the Cognizant Way to Lead through strategic agility, client value creation, AI-led innovation, disciplined execution, collaborative ecosystem building and amplifying human potential through a culture of growth, inclusion and effective human-AI collaboration.
Work model
At Cognizant, we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role's business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 to 5 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Teaneck, New Jersey area. What you must have to be considered
- Minimum 15+ years in the Life Sciences domain in a client-facing and/or account leadership role within an IT professional services or management consulting firm, with proven CxO-level relationship building and executive connects.
- Strong strategic account growth planning and management skills, in-depth understanding of the business problem, technology and services solution domains for Life Sciences, and familiarity with the Life Sciences medical devices domain and emerging technologies for Life Sciences IT systems.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a client P&L of at least $50-70 million, including reporting and metric assessment, with a track record of leading diverse portfolios spanning sales, new sales, programs and existing annuity business.
- Ability to navigate a large, matrixed organization and persuade through content and confidence, cultivating and collaborating within multi-cultural environments and a global service delivery model.
- Ability to conceptualize, analyze and build blueprints for business transformations and present solutions in the Life Sciences domain, well versed with industry-specific events, organizations and key executive/stakeholder mapping; Bachelor's Degree.
- Demonstrated ability to lead with strategic vision, client-centric thinking, innovation, disciplined execution, collaboration and a commitment to developing people in line with the Cognizant Way to Lead.
- Proven track record of building trust, demonstrating ownership, exercising sound judgment and fostering an inclusive culture that supports growth and associate success.

- MS or MBA degree with a hunter / new sales mindset and a strong background in project environments and application development.
- Proven ability to contribute to new business development efforts and to lead and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Detail orientation with the ability to manage all facets of complex assignments and demonstrable problem-solving abilities to identify strategic solutions with enterprise-wide implications.
- Flexibility to work among global teams across time zones, diverse corporate environments, industries, and technical and non-technical audiences.
- Willingness to travel domestically (approximately 25%-30% of the time) and internationally as necessary for business development and client connect.
- Experience thriving in complex, fast-evolving environments by translating strategy into action, fostering cross-functional collaboration and championing continuous learning and curiosity.

Salary and Other Compensation
- The annual salary for this position is between $230,000 - $275,000 depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
- This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
