Job Summary
We are seeking a Business Systems Analyst with expertise in Azure and Databricks to support data platform initiatives. This role focuses on gathering business requirements and translating them into functional specifications and data mappings. You will work closely with business, product, and engineering teams to ensure accurate data analysis, validation, and lineage tracking. The position requires strong SQL skills, data analysis capabilities, and familiarity with cloud-based data environments.
In this role, you will:
· Work as a Business Systems Analyst supporting Azure and Databricks-based data platforms.
· Collaborate with business stakeholders and product teams to gather and analyze requirements.
· Create and maintain functional specification documents and source-to-target mapping documents.
· Perform data analysis, data profiling, validation, and lineage tracking across datasets.
· Write SQL queries to extract and analyze data for business and reporting needs.
· Use Databricks notebooks to query, validate, and explore data in cloud environments.
· Conduct requirement walkthrough sessions with developers, engineers, and QA teams.
· Participate in Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and PI sessions.
What you need to have to be considered
· 8–10 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst.
· Strong experience in creating source-to-target mappings and understanding data lineage.
· Proficiency in SQL for data querying and analysis.
· Good understanding of data profiling, validation, and cloud concepts.
· Hands-on or working experience with Azure and Databricks notebooks.
· Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to work across teams.
· Experience working in Agile environments.

Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $[79,200 - 107,000] depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
