Senior Observability Engineer / Analyst
About the role
As a Senior Observability Engineer / Analyst, you will make an impact by driving end-to-end observability strategies and ensuring application, platform, and infrastructure visibility across complex environments. You will be a valued member of the engineering and operations team and work collaboratively with platform engineers, cloud teams, and application stakeholders to enhance monitoring, performance insights, and system reliability.

In this role, you will:
Administer and optimize Dynatrace (SaaS/Managed), including alerting, anomaly detection, dashboards, tagging, and management zones
Serve as the Dynatrace subject matter expert (SME), supporting troubleshooting, resolving data gaps, and continuously improving monitoring effectiveness
Build and maintain dashboards and DQL queries to deliver actionable insights for application and platform performance
Deploy and support Dynatrace OneAgent across Azure environments, including Windows/Linux VMs, Kubernetes (AKS), and Function Apps
Design, implement, and manage ActiveGate infrastructure for traffic routing, synthetic monitoring, and extension execution

What you need to have to be considered:
Strong hands-on experience with Dynatrace (UI and backend capabilities)
Proven experience deploying and managing ActiveGates (VM routing, synthetics, and extensions)
Solid expertise in Dynatrace Query Language (DQL) and dashboard creation
Experience with Azure cloud environments, including VMs, Kubernetes (AKS), and Function Apps
Hands-on implementation experience with OpenTelemetry (OTEL) for modern workloads
These will help you stand out:
Experience supporting hybrid or large-scale enterprise monitoring environments
Knowledge of observability best practices and modern monitoring frameworks
Familiarity with automation, scripting, or infrastructure-as-code tools
Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning experience across distributed systems
Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner across technical and non-technical teams
Note: Certain roles may require candidates to attend in-person interviews at Cognizant offices or client locations, depending on project requirements.

Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $68,422 to $114,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
