Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect with enterprise architecture experience, including designing and delivering cloud-native commerce, retail, or customer engagement platforms on Microsoft Azure. This role will be responsible for defining and owning the end-to-end architecture for next-generation AI-powered commerce solutions, ensuring alignment between business objectives, customer experience goals, and scalable, secure technology platforms.
The successful candidate will lead the architecture of a modern AI Commerce Platform, integrating Azure-native services, AI/ML capabilities, and enterprise retail systems to deliver intelligent product discovery, personalization, conversational commerce, order orchestration, and seamless customer experiences. They will establish target-state architectures across application, integration, and data layers, driving best practices for scalability, resilience, security, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities :
Own the overall solution architecture for the AI Commerce platform, aligning business requirements (product discovery, personalization, checkout, order orchestration) with a scalable, modular Azure-native design.
Define the target-state architecture spanning Azure App Service/AKS, API Management, Azure Functions, Service Bus/Event Grid, and integration patterns with core retail systems (POS, OMS, inventory, CRM, payment gateways).
Architect the integration layer between AI/ML services (Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, Cognitive Search) and existing commerce systems, ensuring low-latency, resilient, and cost-optimised data flows.
Establish non-functional requirements (scalability, availability, performance, disaster recovery) and design for peak-load retail scenarios (seasonal sales, flash promotions).
Lead architecture governance, producing HLD/LLD documentation, architecture decision records (ADRs), and reference architectures for reuse across client engagements.
Collaborate with AI Engineers, Data Architects, and Security Architects to ensure the solution is technically coherent, secure by design, and aligned with Azure Well-Architected Framework principles.
Guide technology selection and build-vs-buy decisions (e.g., Azure-native services vs. third-party commerce platforms/composable commerce tools).
Provide architectural leadership during pre-sales, client workshops, and delivery phases, translating client pain points into a credible, costed technical roadmap.
Skills Required:
10–15 years in enterprise solution architecture, with at least 4–6 years designing cloud-native commerce, retail, or customer engagement platforms on Azure, and proven experience leading end-to-end architecture across integration, data, and application layers
