About the role
As a Consulting Principal – Fixed Income Transformation, you will lead large-scale transformation initiatives focused on modernizing legacy platforms within fixed income environments. You will play a critical role in early-stage program definition - conducting current-state assessments, identifying capability gaps, and shaping future-state solutions leveraging commercial platforms.
You will work closely with clients, consulting teams, and technology partners to drive complex transformation programs and deliver business outcomes across the fixed income lifecycle.
In this role, you will:
- Lead discovery, scoping, and gap assessment efforts for modernization programs, mapping legacy workflows to target-state platforms
- Drive business and systems analysis, including process mapping, requirements definition, and capability alignment
- Partner with senior stakeholders and executive leadership to shape transformation strategy and roadmap
- Oversee delivery of large-scale programs, ensuring alignment across business, technology, and operations teams
- Provide domain leadership across fixed income products, including securities lifecycle processes and servicing models
- Mentor consulting teams and contribute to practice growth through thought leadership and solution development
- Consistently demonstrate the Cognizant Way to Lead through strong client focus, collaboration, and accountability
Work model
We believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Minnesota or New York City, with additional travel as needed.
The working arrangements for this role are accurate as of the date of posting and may change based on project or client requirements.
What you must have to be considered
- 15+ years of consulting or industry experience in fixed income/government security projects/environments
- Demonstrated experience leading large-scale system modernization or transformation initiatives

- Solid understanding of fixed income products and lifecycle processes (e.g., issuance, servicing, settlement)
- Proven ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders and executive leadership
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and delivering complex consulting engagements
- U.S. Citizenship required with ability to obtain a Public Trust or equivalent clearance
These will help you succeed
