Job Summary

This hybrid role for a senior software engineer demands strong experience in Kubernetes Python and SQL to design develop and optimize scalable enterprise applications that support critical merchandising workflows. The candidate will collaborate across functional teams during day shifts to deliver secure reliable systems that enhance operational efficiency and generate measurable business value for a global organization.

Responsibilities

Design and implement robust backend services and data workflows using Python and SQL that enable scalable and maintainable enterprise applications supporting core business operations and decision making

Develop containerized applications and microservices with Kubernetes to ensure high availability automated scaling and resilient deployment of production workloads across hybrid environments

Optimize application performance and database queries by analyzing metrics profiling code and applying tuning techniques that improve response times and resource utilization for complex transactional systems

Create and maintain secure APIs and integration layers that connect internal platforms and third party systems to streamline data exchange and reduce manual operational overhead

Collaborate closely with product managers and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical designs that align with strategic objectives and deliver measurable outcomes for the organization

Review and refine existing system architectures to identify enhancements in reliability observability and maintainability while reducing technical debt and operational risk

Implement automated testing and continuous integration practices that increase release quality and reduce regression issues across services built with Python and data layers powered by SQL

Monitor production systems and Kubernetes clusters using standardized tooling to proactively detect issues drive root cause analysis and implement sustainable corrective measures

Document system designs data models and deployment procedures in clear and accessible formats that support cross team collaboration and smooth onboarding for new engineering colleagues

Collaborate with data and analytics teams to ensure SQL data structures and pipelines are optimized for reporting forecasting and insights that support informed merchandising decisions when applicable

Drive adoption of secure coding practices and data protection standards within Python services and SQL data stores to safeguard sensitive information and comply with organizational policies

Coordinate work in a hybrid model and day shift schedule to support timely communication with distributed teams and maintain consistent progress against delivery milestones

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by evaluating new tools and practices in Kubernetes and Python ecosystems that increase engineering productivity and system reliability

Qualifications

Possess strong hands on experience designing and building production grade services using Python with a focus on clean code structure and reusable components for enterprise applications

Demonstrate advanced proficiency in SQL for modeling data structures writing complex queries and optimizing execution plans to support transactional and analytical workloads

Bring practical experience managing Kubernetes based deployments including configuration scaling and troubleshooting to ensure resilient and efficient application delivery

Show familiarity with hybrid work models and collaborative tools that enable effective coordination across onsite and remote team members during standard day shift schedules

Apply sound knowledge of software engineering principles including version control code review practices and automated testing to maintain high quality deliverables

Exhibit awareness of security best practices in application and data design to reduce vulnerabilities and protect organizational assets across services and databases

Preferably have exposure to merchandising domain processes such as assortment planning pricing or inventory optimization to better align technical solutions with business value

Display strong communication and problem solving abilities to analyze complex requirements propose pragmatic solutions and articulate technical decisions to diverse stakeholders
