Job Summary
The Sr Test Analyst role focuses on validating complex web services and application programming interfaces for enterprise billing and revenue management systems in a work from office environment. The role involves designing executing and automating test scenarios for Rest and Soap based services ensuring data integrity using structured query language and collaborating closely with developers and analysts to maintain high quality releases for global customers.
Responsibilities
- Design comprehensive test strategies and test cases for web services testing using structured query language and industry tools to ensure complete validation of functional and non functional requirements
- Execute thorough application programming interface testing for Rest and Soap based services to verify request response flows data accuracy and integration consistency across upstream and downstream systems
- Create detailed test data sets using structured query language queries to validate complex business rules transformations and billing scenarios while maintaining strict data quality standards
- Use Postman to design automate and execute collections for regression and smoke testing of critical application programming interfaces improving test repeatability and reducing execution effort
- Apply SoapUI to model service contracts create reusable test suites and validate responses for Soap based services ensuring alignment with interface specifications and service level expectations
- Perform end to end validation of billing and revenue management workflows by combining user interface tests structured query language based data checks and application programming interface validations to ensure reliability and accuracy
- Document clear reproducible defects with detailed steps logs payloads and structured query language evidence to support efficient triage and timely resolution by engineering and analyst teams
- Collaborate with developers product analysts and operations partners in a work from office model to clarify requirements review interface designs and align test coverage with priority business outcomes
- Analyze test execution results to identify trends recurring defects and coverage gaps and propose practical improvements in services data validations or test design that increase product robustness
- Contribute to continuous improvement of test processes by refining templates enhancing test data management and promoting better use of Postman SoapUI and structured query language based checks across the team
- Support production readiness by participating in release validations performing sanity checks on key billing and revenue management flows and confirming that deployed services behave as expected in target environments
- Maintain clear traceability between requirements test cases and execution results to provide transparent quality status for stakeholders and to support audit or compliance needs
- Share knowledge on web services testing practices and tools with peers helping build a stronger quality culture that supports the company mission of delivering reliable digital solutions that positively impact customers and society
Qualifications
- Understand core concepts of software testing including test design techniques defect lifecycle risk based testing and regression optimization for service oriented systems
- Demonstrate strong proficiency with application programming interface testing using Postman including collection design environment configuration parameterization and validation scripts
- Apply advanced structured query language skills to join tables validate business rules verify data integrity and troubleshoot discrepancies across billing and transactional data sets
- Use SoapUI effectively to create functional regression and data driven test suites for Soap services including assertions on response structures status codes and business fields
- Interpret and test Rest service specifications including endpoints methods request payloads response formats and error handling ensuring services meet expected interface and performance behavior
- Draw on prior experience in billing and revenue management domains when available to design realistic scenarios validate rating and invoicing flows and identify defects that affect financial accuracy
- Communicate clearly with cross functional teams in a work from office setting documenting scenarios providing status updates and explaining issues in a concise and collaborative manner
- Adapt quickly to changing priorities and new service integrations in an agile environment while maintaining disciplined test planning execution and evidence collection practices
Certifications Required
- ISTQB Foundation Level or Certified Software Test Professional or equivalent certification in software testing or quality assurance
