Senior Project Manager – Technical
Level: Senior Manager (SM)
Location: Toronto, CANADA
Travel: As Required
Employment Type: Full-Time
About the role:
The Senior Project Manager – Technical is a delivery leadership role. It oversees end-to-end technical delivery for Intact and helps grow Cognizant's business across other insurance engagements in Canada. You will plan, run and govern AI-enabled transformation programs that bring large language models (LLMs), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), agentic AI and machine learning operations (MLOps) into enterprise platforms on AWS and Azure. You will also use your property and casualty (P&C) insurance knowledge to deliver measurable business results in a hybrid, day-shift role.
Key Responsibilities:
Own end-to-end technical delivery of the Intact engagement, including scope, schedule, budget, quality and release commitments across several concurrent workstreams.
Lead the implementation of AI solutions, including LLM integration, RAG pipelines, agentic AI workflows, document AI and model evaluation, from proof of concept through production rollout and hypercare.
Turn complex insurance business needs into prioritized AI use cases, epics, user stories, acceptance criteria and release plans, working with business, product and engineering stakeholders.
Coordinate AI delivery on Amazon Bedrock, Amazon SageMaker, Azure OpenAI and Azure AI Search, making sure teams account for the trade-offs between model accuracy, latency and cost.
Set up AI delivery governance, including responsible-AI guardrails, data access controls, model monitoring, MLOps lifecycle checkpoints and compliance with regulatory and enterprise security standards.
Build and maintain integrated program schedules, milestones, delivery checkpoints, dependency maps, risk registers, decision logs and executive status reports.
Lead globally distributed teams of engineers, data scientists, architects, quality assurance, operations and vendor partners across multiple time zones.
Run executive steering committees and give clear, objective updates on delivery progress, AI adoption results, risks, dependencies and scope decisions.
Manage cloud and data modernization dependencies, such as cloud migrations and data platform readiness (for example, Snowflake), that support AI workloads in production.
Find technical risks, resource constraints and quality concerns early, assign accountable owners and track mitigation through closure.
Oversee release management, regression testing, integration validation, cutover, rollback planning and post-release stabilization for AI-enabled and core insurance platform releases.
Support Cognizant Canadian insurance engagements by helping with solution shaping, estimates, proposals, client demos and delivery playbooks for AI implementation.
Mentor project managers and delivery leads on Agile delivery, AI program governance and technical delivery practices, and sit on interview panels to build the practice.

Proven hands-on AI implementation experience delivering generative AI solutions (LLMs, RAG, multimodal RAG, agentic AI, prompt engineering, fine-tuning, model evaluation and MLOps) into production business workflows.
Working knowledge of AWS AI/ML services (Amazon Bedrock, SageMaker, Textract, Comprehend, Lambda) and Azure AI services (Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search, Azure ML Studio, AI Foundry), plus frameworks such as LangChain.
Strong P&C insurance domain experience, ideally including Guidewire ClaimCenter and PolicyCenter, and AI use cases for claims, first notice of loss (FNOL), underwriting or policy operations.
