Job summary
This role focuses on managing enterprise geographic information solutions that rely on secure cloud infrastructure ensuring reliable access management through Azure AD and robust infrastructure security controls. The GIS Manager will design maintain and optimize cloud based platforms that support critical business mapping and spatial analytics enabling secure data driven decisions while working full time from the office during day shifts.
Responsibilities
- Design and manage cloud based geographic information solutions that support business critical mapping and spatial analysis needs while ensuring high performance and availability
- Coordinate with infrastructure and application teams to align GIS platforms with standardized cloud infrastructure patterns and security baselines
- Implement and maintain Azure AD based identity and access management for GIS related systems to ensure consistent and compliant user access control
- Monitor infrastructure security posture for GIS environments by reviewing logs alerts and configuration baselines to reduce risks and vulnerabilities
- Optimize cloud infrastructure resources for GIS workloads by tuning capacity storage and network settings to balance cost and performance
- Develop operational procedures and runbooks for recurring GIS infrastructure tasks that enable consistent execution and reduced operational risk
- Collaborate with cybersecurity and compliance teams to ensure GIS infrastructure adheres to enterprise security standards and regulatory expectations
- Coordinate issue resolution for GIS infrastructure incidents by engaging relevant technical teams and communicating clear status updates to stakeholders
- Document architecture diagrams configuration details and operational guidelines for GIS cloud environments to support knowledge sharing and future enhancements
- Drive continuous improvement of GIS infrastructure by evaluating new cloud services security capabilities and automation opportunities that benefit the organization
- Guide application teams in integrating GIS solutions with other enterprise systems using secure connectivity patterns and standardized interfaces
- Track and report key operational metrics related to GIS infrastructure availability performance and security to provide transparency and enable data driven improvements
- Partner with business users to understand evolving GIS requirements and translate them into feasible infrastructure solutions that deliver measurable value
Qualifications
- Describe prior experience managing GIS platforms hosted on cloud infrastructure with a focus on operational reliability and secure access management
- Demonstrate hands on expertise in Azure AD administration including user lifecycle management role based access control and conditional access policies for technical environments
- Show strong knowledge of infrastructure security concepts such as network segmentation endpoint protection vulnerability management and identity governance applied to cloud
- Apply working experience with cloud infrastructure services including virtual machines storage networking and monitoring tailored for GIS and related workloads
- Illustrate ability to create technical documentation that explains architectures configurations and operational processes in a clear and reusable format
- Display effective communication skills to collaborate with cross functional teams such as infrastructure security application and business stakeholders in a global corporate context
- Explain prior experience with incident management change management and problem management processes in a structured enterprise or multinational company environment
- Highlight analytical skills used to interpret performance data security findings and capacity trends leading to practical recommendations for system improvements
- Emphasize adaptability in learning new cloud and security technologies and applying them thoughtfully to enhance GIS platforms and related infrastructure
- Show commitment to inclusive collaboration by respecting diverse perspectives and engaging constructively with colleagues across different functions and locations
Certifications Required
Preferred certifications include Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator Associate and a security focused credential such as Security Plus
