About the role
As an Appian Business Analyst, you will make an impact by collaborating with business stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and document business and functional requirements while supporting process improvement and automation initiatives using Appian BPM capabilities. You will be a valued member of the team and work collaboratively with business stakeholders, Appian Architects, Developers, Product Owners, Scrum teams, QA teams, and business users.
In this role, you will:
Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements through workshops, interviews, and process discovery sessions.
Perform Business Process Modeling (BPM) and process analysis to identify opportunities for process optimization and automation.
Translate business requirements into user stories, process flows, acceptance criteria, functional specifications, process maps, workflow diagrams, business rules, and use-case documentation.
Support Agile delivery and backlog management by collaborating with Product Owners and Scrum teams and participating in Agile ceremonies.
Lead UAT and solution validation activities, including test scenario creation, execution support, defect triage, and coordination with QA, development, and business teams.

What you need to have to be considered
Experience collaborating with business stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and document business and functional requirements.
Experience conducting workshops, interviews, and process discovery sessions.
Knowledge of Business Process Management (BPM) concepts and methodologies.
Experience translating business requirements into user stories, process flows, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications.
Experience supporting UAT, backlog management, Agile delivery, and solution validation activities.
These will help you stand out
Work with Appian Architects and Developers.
Creating process maps, workflow diagrams, business rules, and use-case documentation.
Identifying process improvement opportunities and recommending automation solutions using Appian capabilities.
Preparing business documentation, training materials, and user guides.
Experience coordinating with QA, development, and business teams for successful delivery and deployment.
Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $129,500 – $152,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to plan terms.
