Job Summary
The Principal R2 Architect designs scalable hybrid cloud solutions using Openshift AWS Java Springboot and core Java Azure(OpenShift) AWS(1CP) Github to support complex enterprise applications ensuring secure resilient and high performing platforms. The role focuses on architecture governance modernization of existing systems and close collaboration with cross functional teams to deliver reliable business value within a hybrid work model.
Responsibilities
Domain Experience-Travel
- Design comprehensive reference architectures that integrate Openshift AWS Java Springboot and core Java to meet complex enterprise functional and non functional requirements while maintaining high resilience and scalability
- Define reusable architecture patterns and blueprints that standardize microservices design container orchestration and cloud native integration for large scale platforms
- Guide engineering teams in implementing secure and performant APIs using Java and Springboot while aligning code structure and deployment approaches with approved architecture standards
- Architect containerized solutions on Openshift by optimizing image design resource allocations and deployment strategies to enhance reliability and operational efficiency
- Develop high level and low level architecture designs that clearly describe service interactions data flows and integration points for hybrid cloud workloads across on premises and AWS environments
- Collaborate with product managers and business stakeholders to translate strategic goals into technical roadmaps that leverage cloud services and container platforms to deliver measurable business outcomes
- Review solution designs and implementation approaches to ensure compliance with enterprise security standards cloud governance guidelines and regulatory expectations
- Optimize application performance and scalability by recommending improvements in caching strategies database interactions asynchronous processing and resource utilization across Openshift and AWS
- Drive modernization of legacy applications by defining migration strategies to microservices and containers while minimizing risk and ensuring continuity of critical business processes
- Partner with DevOps and platform engineering teams to refine CI CD pipelines for Java Springboot services running on Openshift and AWS to ensure consistent deployments and fast feedback cycles
- Provide technical guidance on cost optimization by selecting efficient AWS services right sizing compute and storage resources and eliminating redundant components in the architecture landscape
- Prepare and deliver architecture documentation diagrams and decision records that enable engineers testers and operations teams to implement and maintain systems with clarity and confidence
- Mentor experienced engineers by sharing best practices for cloud native design secure coding observability and troubleshooting so the broader team can build and support reliable platforms
Qualifications
- Require extensive hands on experience designing and implementing enterprise applications using Java Springboot and core Java with strong focus on scalability maintainability and secure coding practices
- Require deep expertise in architecting and operating containerized applications on Openshift including cluster resource planning application deployment and performance tuning in complex environments
- Require practical experience with AWS services relevant to application hosting such as compute storage networking and managed databases with ability to select appropriate services based on business needs
- Require proven background in designing microservices based architectures that include API design inter service communication patterns resiliency mechanisms and observability capabilities
- Require experience collaborating with cross functional teams including product owners developers security specialists and operations teams to deliver solutions that align with business and technology strategies
- Nice to have experience in designing event driven and asynchronous systems using messaging or streaming platforms to improve responsiveness and decouple critical business processes
- Nice to have exposure to domain driven design practices and modernization of monolithic applications into microservices running on hybrid cloud environments to support incremental transformation
- Nice to have experience implementing monitoring logging and tracing solutions for Java and containerized workloads to improve reliability and accelerate incident resolution
- Nice to have familiarity with hybrid work practices and remote collaboration tools to support distributed teams while maintaining high levels of productivity and alignment
