Job Summary
Serve as a principal architect within a global technology organization shaping end to end enterprise solutions that leverage Confluence and Jira as core collaboration and delivery platforms. Apply extensive architecture experience to define scalable secure and resilient systems that support hybrid work models optimize delivery efficiency and align with strategic business outcomes across multiple teams and regions.
Responsibilities
- Design enterprise grade architectures that integrate Confluence and Jira as foundational platforms to support planning documentation workflow management and team collaboration across hybrid work environments.
- Define target state architectures and roadmaps that guide product and platform evolution while balancing technical feasibility cost efficiency risk reduction and long term scalability.
- Develop high level and detailed solution designs that cover application components data flows integration patterns and non functional requirements for complex digital programs.
- Review existing systems and architectures to identify gaps duplication and technical debt and propose pragmatic modernization approaches that preserve business continuity.
- Collaborate with product management delivery squads and operations teams to translate business capabilities into clear architecture patterns and implementation guidelines.
- Create and maintain architecture standards reference models and reusable design patterns that promote consistency security and maintainability across projects.
- Guide teams on effective configuration and extension of Confluence and Jira to support project governance documentation structures workflow automation and reporting needs.
- Partner with security and compliance teams to embed security by design principles into all architectural decisions ensuring robust controls data protection and regulatory alignment.
- Conduct architecture reviews and solution assessments for critical initiatives providing recommendations that optimize performance resilience and scalability for cloud and on premises deployments.
- Provide technical direction on integration strategies between Jira Confluence and other enterprise platforms including identity management monitoring analytics and development toolchains.
- Mentor engineers and solution designers by reviewing designs sharing architecture best practices and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
- Engage with stakeholders across business units to explain architectural options in clear language and support informed decision making that aligns with organizational objectives.
- Document architecture decisions design rationale and system diagrams in a structured and accessible format within Confluence to ensure shared understanding and long term maintainability.
- Drive adoption of agile and DevOps ways of working by aligning architecture practices with iterative delivery continuous integration and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Require a bachelors degree or equivalent experience in computer science information systems or a related discipline with substantial experience in large scale technology environments.
- Require fourteen to sixteen years of progressive experience in software architecture or solution design with significant exposure to complex enterprise ecosystems.
- Require strong hands on experience configuring and optimizing Confluence and Jira in support of software delivery documentation management and governance workflows.
- Require deep knowledge of modern architecture styles such as microservices event driven design and modular monoliths along with practical experience applying them in production systems.
- Require proven expertise in designing secure scalable and resilient systems across cloud and on premises platforms with familiarity in at least one major public cloud provider.
- Require strong collaboration skills to work effectively with cross functional teams in a hybrid work model using structured communication and clear documentation.
- Nice to have experience using Jira and Confluence integrations with continuous integration tools code repositories and monitoring platforms to support automated delivery pipelines.
- Nice to have exposure to scaled agile frameworks or similar enterprise delivery models with the ability to align architectural decisions to iterative planning cycles.
- Nice to have prior experience in multinational organizations where architecture must account for regional regulations data residency requirements and distributed teams.
- Nice to have familiarity with data modeling analytics platforms and reporting tools to ensure that architecture designs support reliable insight generation and decision making.
- Nice to have experience facilitating architecture workshops whiteboarding sessions and technical reviews that build consensus and drive shared understanding among diverse stakeholders.
