We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Duck Creek Policy Configurator to design, configure, and support policy administration solutions within a large-scale insurance technology environment.
This role provides the opportunity to work closely with business stakeholders, product owners, and delivery teams to build and enhance Duck Creek Rating, Policy, and Manuscripts capabilities. You will play a key role in delivering reliable, scalable, and compliant policy administration solutions that support the full policy lifecycle, while driving best practices across configuration, testing, and production support activities.
Key Responsibilities
• Configure and maintain Duck Creek Rating components to implement accurate, compliant, and efficient insurance product rating logic.
• Develop and enhance Duck Creek Policy configurations to support end-to-end policy administration processes, including new business, endorsements, renewals, and cancellations.
• Configure Duck Creek Manuscripts to support custom forms, clauses, coverage wording, and policy documentation requirements.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, Product Owners, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable and maintainable configuration solutions.
• Design and implement policy administration functionality aligned with business, regulatory, and operational requirements.
• Perform configuration unit testing and support system integration testing activities to validate rating rules, policy workflows, and document generation capabilities.
• Analyse and resolve defects identified during testing and production support, performing root cause analysis and implementing sustainable fixes.
• Support production environments by troubleshooting policy administration and rating issues, responding to incidents, and ensuring minimal business disruption.
• Coordinate with QA, operations, and release teams to support successful deployments and maintain configuration consistency across environments.
• Document configuration designs, business rule mappings, technical decisions, and implementation approaches to support knowledge sharing and ongoing maintenance.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying reusable patterns, configuration standards, and best practices across the Duck Creek platform.
• Participate in team knowledge-sharing sessions and provide guidance on Duck Creek configuration methodologies and delivery approaches.
Skills & Experience
• Proven experience configuring and supporting Duck Creek Policy, Duck Creek Rating, and Duck Creek Manuscripts within insurance environments.
• Strong understanding of policy administration systems and the insurance policy lifecycle, including new business, endorsements, renewals, cancellations, and policy servicing.
• Experience configuring insurance product rating models, underwriting rules, forms selection, and policy workflows.
• Ability to translate business requirements into functional and technical configuration solutions.
• Experience supporting testing activities, including unit testing, system integration testing, defect resolution, and production validation.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyse configuration, data, and workflow issues in complex insurance platforms.
• Experience supporting production environments and managing incidents, service requests, and operational support activities.
• Strong understanding of insurance business processes and policy administration best practices.
• Experience working within Agile delivery environments alongside Product Owners, Business Analysts, QA teams, and Developers.
• Excellent documentation skills with the ability to create clear configuration specifications, business rule mappings, and support artefacts.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively across business and technical teams.
• Experience identifying opportunities for reusability, standardisation, and continuous improvement within Duck Creek implementations.
