About the role
As a Consulting Principal, Manufacturing and Supply Chain Management, you will make an impact by leading client-facing consulting engagements that help manufacturing and supply chain organizations modernize operations, improve performance, identify transformation opportunities, and translate business priorities into practical technology-enabled solutions.
You will be a valued member of the Manufacturing and Supply Chain Consulting team and work collaboratively with clients, account teams, solution teams, consulting leaders, and cross-functional Cognizant stakeholders.
In this role, you will:
- Lead strategic consulting engagements across manufacturing operations, supply chain management, Industry 4.0, asset management, quality, planning, sourcing and procurement, warehousing, and logistics.
- Facilitate client workshops to assess current-state processes, identify transformation opportunities, define future-state operating models, and convert business requirements into actionable solution recommendations.
- Partner with client stakeholders and Cognizant solution teams to design customized business and technology solutions that address client-specific operational priorities.
- Support business development by contributing to RFP and RFI responses, market research, points of view, go-to-market strategies, and proactive consulting opportunity identification.
- Develop thought leadership in manufacturing and supply chain management through white papers, webinars, analyst engagement, client workshops, and industry benchmarking insights.
- Lead, mentor, and develop consulting team members by setting goals, guiding career development, supporting performance discussions, and contributing to hiring and retention efforts.
- Consistently demonstrate the Cognizant Way to Lead, operating with personal leadership, organizational leadership, and business leadership to build trust, drive strategic direction, manage ambiguity, and deliver client-focused outcomes. Work model

Based on this role’s business requirements, this position requires 25% travel and 4 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Princeton , New Jersey. What you must have to be considered
- 8 to 12 years of consulting, advisory, professional services, business transformation, manufacturing operations, or supply chain transformation experience in a client-facing capacity.
- Strong functional experience in manufacturing operations and supply chain management, with exposure to areas such as Industry 4.0, asset management, quality, planning, sourcing and procurement, warehousing, or logistics.
- Demonstrated ability to lead consulting engagements, facilitate client workshops, conduct process discovery, identify transformation opportunities, and define future-state processes.
- Experience translating business requirements into technology-enabled solutions in partnership with solution, delivery, and client teams.
- Strong executive communication, stakeholder management, presentation, and client relationship skills.
- Experience supporting business development activities such as RFP or RFI responses, go-to-market planning, market research, pursuit support, or consulting opportunity shaping.
- People leadership experience, including mentoring consultants, supporting career development, contributing to hiring, and helping build high-performing consulting teams.

These will help you succeed
- Experience with one or more supply chain management or manufacturing technology platforms.
- Prior experience with a Tier 1 management consulting firm or a leading advisory organization.
- Project management experience across complex consulting or transformation programs.
- Knowledge of industry research, benchmarking resources, technology trends, and best practices in manufacturing and supply chain management.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across client, consulting, account, and delivery teams.
- A strong sense of accountability, constructive problem solving, and a consulting mindset focused on measurable client outcomes.

Salary and Other Compensation
The annual salary for this position is between $120000 and $ 170000, depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
