Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Automation Testing with Ruby Experience professional to join our Quality Engineering & Assurance team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in developing and executing automated test solutions using Ruby, along with solid manual testing, API testing, and defect management experience. This role requires a quality-focused professional with a deep understanding of testing methodologies, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Experience within the Property & Casualty Insurance domain is highly valued, while Guidewire ClaimCenter knowledge is considered a strong advantage.

About the Role
As an Automation Testing with Ruby Experience professional, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of business-critical applications. You will design and maintain automated test scripts, execute comprehensive testing activities across multiple test phases, and work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve defects throughout the software development lifecycle.
The ideal candidate brings extensive Quality Engineering experience, hands-on expertise in Ruby-based automation testing, and a strong understanding of API, database, and manual testing practices. You will leverage tools such as Jira for test management and defect tracking while contributing to the continuous improvement of testing processes and overall product quality. This role offers the opportunity to work on enterprise-scale applications within the insurance domain, supporting the delivery of high-quality solutions that meet business and customer expectations.
In This Role, You Will
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Ruby-based automation frameworks.
- Execute functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing activities.
- Perform REST/API testing to validate service functionality, reliability, and data integrity.
- Conduct manual testing and document defects, test results, and observations.
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to understand requirements and define test scenarios.
- Utilize Jira for defect tracking, test execution management, and reporting.
- Perform accessibility testing to ensure applications comply with established standards.
- Develop and execute SQL-based validations and ETL testing activities to ensure data accuracy and consistency.

Required Qualifications
• Develop functional automation scripts with at least 8+ Yrs. of experience in QEA testing. |
• Must have strong experience in Ruby testing. Demonstrate expertise in Property & Casualty Insurance. |
• Have hands-on experience with Jira for defect tracking and test management. Show proficiency in accessibility testing to ensure compliance with standards. |
• Exhibit strong skills in manual testing to identify and document defects. Be adept at REST / API Service Testing for validating API functionality. |
• Have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. |
• Possess strong communication and collaboration abilities. |
• Be detail-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment. |
• Demonstrate a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues. |
• Have a strong understanding of software development life cycle |
• Having Guidewire Claimcenter experience will be a great advantage |
• Have experience working in writing SQL queries at ETL QA level |

Salary and Other Compensation:
Applications will be accepted until October 11th , 2026.
The annual salary for this position is between $53,000 - $92,500 depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
