ROLE : INFRA OPS SPECIALIST
Location : Hartford CT ( 100% Onsite )
- The ability to assist in finalizing a Microsoft SQL Server migration design in which to migrate Microsoft SQL server machines into a right-sized Virtual Machine (VM) for On-premise and AWS EC2 residing within the customer’s environment.
- Building AWS EC2 servers using terraform and Jenkins pipelines.
- Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.
- Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
- Implement Always On Availability Group as a High Availability solution.
- Automate repetitive tasks performed day to day basis.
- Share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to other peers and team members.
- Prepare documentations and specifications.
Skills and Qualifications
- Strong proficiency with SQL 2022 and its variation among popular databases
- Strong proficiency in SQL Server side by side migration
- String experience in Always ON setup, configurations and setup
- Experience with backups, restores and recovery models
- Strong knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server
- Experience in SSRS/SSIS/SSAS migration
- Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools
- Experience of Cloud solutions.
- Strong proficiency in Powershell scripting on SQL and Windows servers.
- Capable of troubleshooting common database issues.
- Knowledge on AWS EC2, S3 Bucket, Security, and other IaaS/PaaS services.
- Knowledge on monitoring solutions in Dynatrace, Foglight etc.
- SQL DBA - 10 + yrs of exp
- AWS Cloud - 8 + years
- SQL Server migration - 10+ years
- Performance Tuning and Optimization - 8 + years
