Title: Transition Director, Project and Program Management Center of Excellence

Overview:
Join Cognizant as an inspiring leader within the Program & Project Management community. This key role is responsible and accountable for Program Management activities associated with large-scale, complex, multi-service (Application Development and Maintenance, Infrastructure, Business Process, and Digital) programs. Successful candidates will not only manage delivery objectives but will also have responsibility for customer satisfaction and the client relationships required for successful program delivery.
Role:
• Lead the planning and execution of portfolio management strategies to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
• Oversee the development and implementation of project management processes and methodologies.
• Drive planning, sourcing and fulfillment of resources as per the resource replacement plan aligned with the client for a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers with deep experience in distributed microservices, full stack engineering, data engineering and Cl/CD concepts on cloud
• Prepare proactive sourcing plans as per the Tenure rotation plan requirements of client line of business (LOB)
• Drive the tenure rotation plan partnering with LOB stakeholders and Enterprise Supplier Management (ESM) teams
• Ability to negotiate with client stakeholders and business groups to drive the tenure rotation plan and deliver intended outcomes
• Follow Transition process framework to manage knowledge transition activities
• Ability to customize the transition process to suit the customer landscape and willing to work in a fast-paced environment
• Lead and direct transitions in the role of a Transition lead ranging from 9 to 12 months and involving multiple Cognizant groups and horizontals (travel to client location is mandatory)
• Manage the financials of the engagement (Transition cost and its components) during the period of transition
• Establish Agile, AD, IT service management processes and tools for the engagement during the Transition period
• Collaborate with various internal teams (service lines, account team, support teams) and be a single point of contact for overall plan execution and reporting back to leadership team
• Interact with various client stakeholders to influence outcomes related to the replacement plans to avoid disruption to our teams and client deliverables
• Tracking and periodic reporting on the progress of the Tenure Replacement Plan to client stakeholders and internal leadership team
• Identify cross/up selling opportunities and collaborate with sales teams to drive revenue growth
• Contribute to the development of organizational policies and procedures related to portfolio and project management.
Required Qualifications:
• 15+ years of IT Industry experience with strong Transition and program management capabilities demonstrated in leading the teams to deliver transformational projects
• Multi-service line transition solutioning and execution experience is mandatory. Must have proven knowledge and experience of cross tower Transition solution or delivery integration.
• Experience of at least 1-2 engagements of greater than 300 FTEs+ in Transition program delivery
• Being hands on and detail oriented, capable of creating and reviewing transition solution and improving them - this is not a plain oversight, PMO, or people manager role.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, proven experience in interacting with CXO level interaction skills
• Strong ability to own and drive the engagement and bring multiple groups together across Cognizant during the Transition period - this is not a Consulting role but one that involves leadership and direction
• Flexibility to travel
• Good knowledge of various aspects of project / program management activities.
• Good understanding and experience working with client stakeholders on project contract management processes (using tools such as Beeline) including budget planning, contracts/assignments creation and extensions
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and facilitation skills. Exceptional client management skills and experience. Ability to work collaboratively with multiple clients and internal stakeholders
• Global delivery model knowledge and experience
• Show a strong understanding of industry standards and best practices in portfolio and project management.
Required Education: Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or Masters degree strongly preferred
