8. Responsibilities :
-Execute mainframe test activities across assigned applications by developing detailed test scenarios and cases that validate functional accuracy performance stability and data integrity for critical business transactions
-Perform Cobol based component and integration testing by analyzing program logic reviewing job control flows and verifying outputs to ensure defect free delivery of mainframe changes
-Use Jira to create update and track test tasks defects and progress metrics while maintaining transparent communication with project stakeholders and ensuring timely resolution of identified issues
-Conduct regression testing on mainframe applications whenever new features or fixes are deployed so that existing card and payment functionalities remain stable and uninterrupted
-Analyze test results and production like data sets to identify patterns of recurring issues document clear root cause summaries and provide recommendations that help development teams improve system reliability
-Collaborate with analysts developers and operations teams in a hybrid environment to clarify requirements understand end to end flows and align test coverage with business priorities in cards and payments
-Validate the accuracy of transaction posting settlement calculations and statement generation processes in card and payment systems to support secure and compliant financial operations for customers
-Contribute to test data preparation by defining input combinations masking sensitive information and organizing reusable data sets that improve test efficiency and coverage across mainframe components
-Participate in day shift project ceremonies such as standups and defect triage meetings to share test status updates raise risks early and help drive informed decisions on release readiness
-Document test execution steps evidence and outcomes in a structured manner so that auditors support teams and new joiners can easily understand what was tested and how quality was assured
-Support continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting enhancements to test processes reusable assets and automation opportunities that reduce cycle time and increase defect detection effectiveness
-Assist in implementing quality gates in the delivery pipeline by defining entry and exit criteria for mainframe testing stages and ensuring that releases meet agreed standards before production deployment
-Align daily work to the company purpose by helping safeguard secure transactions and reliable payment journeys thereby contributing to trust in digital commerce and financial inclusion across society
Qualifications:
-Demonstrate foundational understanding of mainframe testing concepts including batch and online processing job scheduling flows and data validation techniques gained through projects or training
-Apply working knowledge of Cobol program structures file handling and business rules interpretation to design meaningful test cases that cover both typical and edge scenarios
-Utilize Jira or similar work tracking tools to manage test tasks log defects with clear reproduction steps and collaborate effectively with team members in a structured project environment
-Exhibit awareness of cards and payments domain processes such as authorizations settlements and chargebacks and translate this understanding into practical scenarios that enhance test coverage
-Show ability to learn quickly follow established quality standards and adapt to hybrid work practices while maintaining disciplined documentation and communication habits across locations
