Role Summary
The Python Data Test Lead will own the end-to-end testing strategy for Python-based data pipelines and ML workloads within the AIA Azure ML platform. This role ensures functional parity, data integrity, and model performance consistency during R-to-Python and Azure ML migrations.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and lead the Python data & ML testing strategy across Discovery, SIT, UAT, and Hypercare phases.
- Own pre- and post-migration validation ensuring numerical and business equivalence against legacy models.
- Design test frameworks for ETL, feature engineering, and ML inference pipelines.
- Coordinate parallel run / shadow execution and tolerance-based validation with business SMEs.
- Drive defect triage, root cause analysis, and regression testing.
- Govern test documentation, sign-off artifacts, and compliance reporting.
- Collaborate with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, DevOps/MLOps, and Business Analysts.
Required Skills & Experience
- 8–12 years in Data / ML Testing with at least 4+ years leading test teams.
- Strong hands-on experience with Python, Pandas, NumPy, PyTest.
- Experience testing Azure ML pipelines, APIs, batch jobs, and data workflows.
- Strong understanding of statistical validation, model metrics, and acceptance thresholds.
- Exposure to DevOps pipelines (CI/CD), Git, and Azure DevOps.
- Excellent client-facing and governance documentation skills.
