Roles and Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable data pipelines using Python and PySpark to ingest, transform, and serve large-scale structured and unstructured datasets.
- Build and manage data workflows on Snowflake, including schema design, data modeling, query optimization, and performance tuning.
- Implement ETL/ELT processes to integrate data from diverse sources (APIs, databases, event streams, flat files) into centralized data lakes or warehouses.
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand requirements and deliver clean, reliable datasets for analytics and ML workloads.
- Develop and maintain data quality checks, monitoring, and alerting to ensure pipeline reliability and data integrity.
- Optimize Snowflake costs through warehouse sizing strategies, clustering keys, result caching, and query profiling.
- Participate in code reviews, contribute to best practices, and help establish engineering standards within the data team.
- Document data flows, pipeline designs, and data dictionaries to support cross-functional transparency.
- Support CI/CD practices data pipeline deployment using tools such as GitHub Actions, Airflow, dbt, or similar.
