Role Overview: We are seeking a Senior Automation Test Engineer with 7 to 12 years of testing experience to join our team in QEA practice. This role focuses on ensuring the quality and reliability of our digital e-commerce applications through comprehensive manual and automated testing. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of software testing methodologies and collaborate closely with development teams to drive quality from the inception to the deployment of our digital solutions.
What you bring to the role:
- 7+ years as a Test Automation Engineer or in a similar automation testing role.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript.
- 4+ years of hands-on experience with test automation tools and frameworks such as Selenium WebDriver, Appium, Cucumber, Cypress, JUnit, TestNG, etc.
- Must have 3+ years of strong hands-on experience in API testing using tools like Postman, RestAssured, or SoapUI.
- Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools such as Jenkins, Bamboo, or GitLab CI.
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git or SVN.
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts to ensure the quality of software products.
- Implement and execute automated test cases for functional, integration, regression, and performance testing.
- Analyze test results, identify defects, and work closely with development teams to resolve issues.
- Continuously improve automated testing processes and strategies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and other Agile/Scrum activities as part of the software development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, quality assurance engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to identify test requirements and scenarios.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends in test automation and incorporate best practices into the testing process.

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Vancouver, BC location. We regularly assess market data to ensure we offer a competitive compensation package for our associates. The base salary for this position ranges between CAD 90,000 – 110,500 per year. Where the successful candidate may fall within the range depends on relevant education, work and/or management experience and other business-related and job-necessary qualifications. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual performance-based bonus, as well as benefits that support your physical, mental and financial well-being.
