QA Lead with Capital Markets Experience

As a QA Lead, you will implement, control, and distribute all Quality Assurance practices, standards, methodologies, and metrics on a large Capital Markets led initiative.

In this role, you will:

  • Responsible for developing and completing test plans for a large Capital Markets led initiative.
  • Responsible for following defined processes and tools and alignment with overall QE strategy and framework.
  • Responsible for leading project test activities and aligning to Cognizant's Quality Engineering practices.
  • Responsible for developing program test plan and strategy with a focus on optimized coverage for assigned programs through the application lifecycle and managing end-to-end quality project activities.
  • Accountable for driving quality and champion defect prevention/early defect detection.
  • Accountable for improving test coverage and using business analysis techniques to optimize testing activities.
  • For Non-functional: Responsible for driving the correct non-functional test activities in the program workstream.
  • Partners across IT and with assigned business lines to plan functional, non-functional and UAT testing activities.
  • Effectively communicates and builds rapport with team members, customers, and business partners using a variety of techniques and collaboration from initiation to close.
  • Resolves conflicts/issues and brings up others as appropriate.

What you’ll need to succeed (required skills):

  • At least 2 years of experience in Capital market domain testing.
  • Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience with defining Test strategy and test approach for medium and large programs in Agile and Non-agile projects.
  • Good experience in test case design at different levels (component/service, integration, end-to-end/user scenarios) or non-functional testing (depending on role).
  • Hands-on experience in the usage of test management tools – JIRA, Confluence, Qtest, etc.
  • Experience working in complex ecosystems involving a large pool of upstream and downstream applications with complex data flows.
  • Hands-on experience in defect management, dashboard management and reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability in a QA/test environment with a focus on technical, automated testing in a variety of environments (cloud, distributed or mainframe, business workflows and services/APIs, databases).
  • Experience in non-functional testing test case creation (component/service, integration, end to end) spanning all performance test levels (load, stress, endurance, reliability, configuration, rollout) and results analysis.

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days a week in a client office in Toronto, ON.
