Consulting Manager, Life Sciences (Remote)
As a Consulting Manager in our Intelligent Process Automation (IPA) Life Sciences practice, you will apply deep industry expertise to help clients optimize regulated processes and adopt enabling technologies. You’ll partner with delivery teams and client stakeholders to diagnose challenges, recommend solutions, and guide successful execution across areas such as Clinical Operations, Regulatory Affairs, Pharmacovigilance, and Quality.
Key Responsibilities
Domain Expertise: Serve as the go‑to resource for life sciences best practices, regulations (GxP, SOX, 21 CFR Part 11), and industry trends.
Process Discovery: Lead or facilitate workshops, stakeholder interviews, and current‑state assessments to map processes and uncover improvement opportunities.
Analysis & Design: Conduct gap analysis, root‑cause investigations, and value‑stream mapping; translate findings into structured recommendations.
Solution Definition: Align business requirements with technology and automation options (e.g., RPA, low‑code platforms, Veeva, SAP, Oracle) to form clear implementation roadmaps.
Collaboration: Partner with solution architects, analytics teams, and delivery managers to validate feasibility and drive pilot/proof‑of‑concept development.
Client Engagement: Present findings and proposed solutions to both technical and executive audiences; build credibility through clear, data‑driven storytelling.
Team Leadership: Mentor and support junior consultants; contribute to internal playbooks, frameworks, and case studies.
Continuous Learning: Stay current with emerging technologies (AI/ML, data analytics) and evolving regulatory requirements; recommend how clients can leverage these in their operations.
Required Skills & Experience
10+ years in the life sciences industry, with significant exposure to one or more functions: Clinical Development, Regulatory Affairs, Pharmacovigilance, Quality, or Commercial Operations.
Proven track record in process improvement and compliance‑driven transformation.
Prior consulting experience or equivalent leadership role in cross‑functional projects.
Hands‑on familiarity with systems and tools such as Veeva Vault, Trackwise, SAP, Oracle, or automation platforms (e.g., UiPath, Microsoft Power Platform).
Strong analytical aptitude: process mapping, root‑cause analysis, and quantitative evaluation.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to engage diverse stakeholder groups.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with global life sciences clients and multi‑geography delivery models.
Exposure to digital transformation initiatives, including AI/ML or advanced analytics in regulated environments.
Certification in Lean Six Sigma, PMP, or similar process‑improvement methodologies.
The annual salary for this position is between $130,000 – $145,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
