Senior Automation Test Engineer

We are looking for Senior Automation Test Engineer to join our QEA team. You'll be key in boosting software quality by designing and implementing robust automated tests. You'll work closely with our business and Client's QA team to catch defects early, maximize test coverage to ensure high-quality automated testing for our data-driven applications.

In this role, you will:

  • Responsible for designing the effective automated test frameworks and data -driven execution approach and test design techniques.
  • Create or leverage the existing automation frameworks, tools and artefacts to ensure testing process is continuous, comprehensive and fully autonomous.
  • Create test cases and test scripts based on requirement documents and business User Stories.
  • Participate in executing of functional testing, system integration, E2E integration testing, regression testing, re-testing.Work with JIRA, Confluence, qTest for test case management, defect management, test reporting and other functions.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies like, Sprint planning, grooming sessions, stand-up meetings, demo sessions, and retrospective meetings.
  • Participate in defect triage and scrum meetings.

What you’ll need to succeed (required skills):

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in a QA/test environment with a focus on technical, automated testing in a variety of environments (Cloud, distributed and mainframe, business workflows and services/APIs, databases).
  • Must have 5+years of strong experience in test automation frameworks/tools e.g., (Robot Framework, SoapUI or ReadyAPI, Postman and Selenium WebDrive) and development languages (e.g. Python, Java, SQL server stored procedures, etc.).
  • Good experience in Micro Service testing and API testing.
  • Good knowledge of QE Processes, Testing Life Cycle, SDLC, QE and DevOps tools (JIRA, Confluence, QTest, HP ALM etc.), and Defect Management processes for application testing, development and support with hands-on experience in creating test cases, executing manual/automated test cases.
  • Knowledge of Testing Methodologies with hands on experience on various testing tools.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps Tools such as Jenkins, GIT, etc.
  • Good experience with Database technologies (e.g. Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata, IMS) and SQL experience.

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days a week in a client office in Halifax location.
