We are looking for a highly skilled Data Architect to design, build, and maintain the data
infrastructure that supports our business needs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for
analyzing Utility systems data, defining data architecture strategies, ensuring data quality, and
optimizing database performance. You will collaborate closely with analysts and business teams to
create scalable and efficient data solutions.
Responsibilities & Requirements:
• Understand the movement of data across Utility systems and identify pain points.
• Design, develop, and implement data architecture solutions to support business
intelligence, analytics, and operational needs.
• Define and enforce data governance policies, security standards, and best practices.
• Conduct data analysis , develop and optimize database structures, data models, and ETL
processes.
• Work with cross-functional teams to integrate data from multiple sources into a centralized
data warehouse or data lake.
• Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of database and data storage systems.
• Evaluate and implement new data management technologies, including cloud-based
solutions.
• Document data architectures, data flow diagrams, and system designs for technical and
business teams.
• Identify and resolve data quality issues and inconsistencies.
• Monitor and improve data quality, consistency, and integrity.
• Support data migration, transformation, and consolidation efforts.
Qualifications:
• Experience: 5+ years of experience in data architecture, database management, or data
engineering.
• Proficiency in SQL for querying databases.
• Strong expertise in data governance, security, and compliance regulations.
• Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or R is a plus.
• Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, or similar).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills to present data-driven insights.
• Attention to detail and ability to work with large datasets.
• Knowledge of metadata management and master data management (MDM).
• Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
• Understanding of business intelligence and data warehousing concepts.
• Certifications in cloud platforms (AWS Certified Data Analytics, Google Cloud Data
Engineer, etc.) is plus.
• Experience in AI/ML-driven data architectures is plus.
Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in US without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
Salary and Other Compensation:
Applications will be accepted until March 3rd, 2025.
The annual salary for this position is between $81,450.00 – $129,500.00 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
