AS400 Admin (iSeries)

JD for iSeries Administrator /As400 :

Location : Hyderabad & Pune only preferrable

Should have 6+ years of experience administering Power Systems environments running IBM i(AS400)

• Should have strong knowledge on iSeries/IBMi hardware upgrade (for example POWER7 to POWER8 or 9) and operating system upgrade (for example, IBM i 5.4 or 6.1 to 7.1, 7.2, 7.3 &7.4))

• Server Build - LPAR creation, server configuration, HMC management.

• Knowledge on EMC Data Domain and IBM Flash Storage

Disaster Recovery - Handling periodic DR using backup tape and HA tools.

• Network - Network configuration within iSeries.

• Migration - Data Backup & Restore (using native and BRMS)

• Operating System - OS & PTF (patch) Installation, version upgrade and maintenance.

• System and related software upgrade activities on periodic interval.

• Security - Security Management using System supplied tools and System Auditing.

• Backup/Restoration - Planning, Designing, implementing, managing the Backup/Restoration process using native, BRMS, Robot tool and handling tape management.

• Capacity Planning - Capacity reporting & planning, Performance tuning & analysis which helps timely upgrades, enhancements in order to meet the growing demands.

• User profile management: Creation, Deletion, Modification, handling authorities and groups for new user profiles according to job responsibilities.

• Writers - Standard Printing and Spool manipulation, Local & Remote writers.

• Scheduling - Standard Job Scheduler,

• Strong knowledge on iCluster replication tool and Robot products

• Monitoring - Work management, Batch jobs, Backups, server performance.

• Journaling - Implementation of journals as per business requirement and managing audit journals.
