As a Control-M Engineer, you will make an impact in optimizing and automating enterprise workloads. You’ll design, administer, and enhance Control-M job scheduling, ensuring system reliability, high availability, and flawless integrations across on-prem and cloud environments. Your expertise in automation, system performance, and resolution will directly improve operational efficiency. You will be a valued member of our Infrastructure practice and work collaboratively with our Engagement Delivery Lead.
In this role, you will
- Deploy, configure, and optimize Control-M environments on-prem and cloud for stability and performance.
- Provide tier 2 and tier 3 support, diagnosing and resolving Control-M-related issues.
- Create, automate, and manage job workflows, ensuring efficiency, dependency handling, and error recovery.
- Optimize workload distribution, job prioritization, and resource allocation for peak efficiency.
- Lead all aspects of job execution, system health, and resource utilization, proactively resolving failures and bottlenecks.
- Integrate Control-M with enterprise applications, middleware, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle).
- Build and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Python, Shell scripting, or Perl.
- Apply Control-M APIs for automation, monitoring, and custom integrations.
- Define security policies, user roles, and access controls, ensuring compliance with audit requirements.
- Coordinate collaboratively with IT, DevOps, and application teams to improve workload automation strategies.
What you’ll need to succeed (required skills)
- A proven track record of 8 or more years in Control-M administration, job scheduling, and workload automation expertise.
- Proficient in Linux and Windows OS scripting languages like Python, PowerShell, and Perl.
- Top-tier experience in database management tools such as SQL, Oracle, and PostgreSQL.
- Expert with Control-M Automation API and cloud-based Control-M implementations.
- Detailed knowledge of security policies, access controls, and audit compliance

Working arrangements
We believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 2 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Halifax, NS or Mississauga, ON. Regardless of your working arrangement, we are here to support a healthy work-life balance though our various wellbeing programs.
