RightFax Engineer

As a RightFax Engineer, you will make a meaningful impact by ensuring seamless, secure, and efficient fax communication across our organization. Your expertise will drive system reliability, security, and optimization, enabling smooth integrations with email, telephony, EMR/EHR, and cloud-based faxing solutions. By proactively fixing issues, improving security, and streamlining workflows, you’ll directly contribute to operational efficiency and compliance with industry standards. You will be a valued member of our Infrastructure practice and work collaboratively with our Engagement Delivery Lead.

In this role, you will

  • Install, configure, and maintain RightFax servers, clients, and modules (Encryption, Analytics, Connect).
  • Integrate RightFax with email servers (Exchange, SMTP), Multi-Function Printers (MFPs), EHR/EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, Meditech), and telephony systems (VoIP, SIP/T.38, PBX).
  • Coordinate workflows, OCR, routing rules, security policies, and user permissions.
  • Ensure flawless authentication and data integrity through Active Directory, Group Policy, SQL Server, and cloud faxing solutions.
  • Perform system updates, patches, backups, upgrades, and migrations to maintain reliability and security.
  • Monitor logs, performance metrics, and system alerts to resolve and optimize RightFax performance.
  • Provide tier 2 and tier 3 support, diagnosing networking issues, fax delivery failures, and VoIP integrations.
  • Implement encryption, security controls, and compliance measures (HIPAA, PCI DSS, SOX).
  • Perform security audits, risk assessments, and vulnerability remediation to protect sensitive fax transmissions.
  • Coordinate with IT, network, and security teams, as well as vendors like OpenText, telephony providers, and cloud fax service providers.
  • Stay updated on new technologies, industry trends, and emerging fax technologies.

What you’ll need to succeed (required skills)

  • A proven track record of 8 or more years in RightFax installation, configuration, and administration.
  • Expert in Windows Server (2016/2019/2022), Active Directory, and SQL Server.
  • Detailed understanding of networking, TCP/IP, VPNs, firewalls, SIP, T.38 faxing, and VoIP.
  • Top-tier experience with resolving fax failures, network latency issues, and SIP/PBX integrations.
  • Outstanding knowledge of security standard methodologies, encryption, and regulatory compliance.
  • Efficient problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to support both technical and non-technical users.

What will help you stand out (preferred skills)

  • Flawless experience integrating RightFax with EMR/EHR systems, MFPs, and cloud-based fax solutions.
  • Expert in Group Policy, Exchange/SMTP integration, and cloud faxing platforms (RightFax Connect, eFax).
  • Proficient with PowerShell scripting for automation and administrative tasks.

Working arrangements

We believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 2 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Halifax, NS or Mississauga, ON. Regardless of your working arrangement, we are here to support a healthy work-life balance though our various wellbeing programs.
