Technical Architect - AFS to ACBS (Automated Financial Systems and Advanced Commercial Banking System)
Location: San Jose, CA
Position Overview:
Lead the architectural design and technical strategy for the implementation of the FIS CLS (ACBS) platform. Provide expert-level oversight, define robust integration frameworks, and ensure the solution meets stringent performance, scalability, security, and compliance requirements. This role is pivotal in guiding the technical direction of the FIS CLS project, ensuring a seamless transition and optimal system performance.
Key Responsibilities:
· Architectural Design in tandem with Lead Architect from the bank:
o Define the end-to-end system architecture for FIS CLS, including core modules, integrations, and data flows.
o Design scalable, secure, and resilient solutions, leveraging cloud, on-premises, or hybrid infrastructures as needed.
o Develop and maintain architectural blueprints, standards, and guidelines.
· Integration and Data Migration:
o Define and implement integration patterns using APIs, middleware solutions (e.g., MuleSoft, TIBCO), and other appropriate technologies.
o Oversee the design and implementation of data migration strategies, including ETL pipeline design and execution using tools like Informatica or Talend.
o Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency throughout the migration process.
· Technical Leadership:
o Collaborate with business stakeholders, project managers, and development teams to refine technical requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives.
o Provide technical leadership and mentorship to implementation engineers and development teams.
o Drive adherence to architectural best practices, coding standards, and security protocols.
o Perform technical risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
· Performance and Security:
o Ensure the FIS CLS solution meets performance, scalability, and availability requirements.
o Design and implement security measures to protect sensitive financial data and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
o Ensure the system can handle future upgrades and changes.
Qualifications:
· 8+ years of experience in solution architecture, with a focus on financial services platforms.
· Proven expertise in designing and implementing large-scale system integrations, API design, and data migration strategies.
· Deep understanding of commercial lending domains and FIS CLS (ACBS) functionality.
· Experience with database technologies (Oracle, SQL Server) and data modeling.
Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $154,000 to $181,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
