Job summary

Working as part of a dynamic and fast-growing engineering team and aligned to the Architecture team the Sr. Architect Engineer will take technical ownership for the Merit platform application as part of the wider Architecture team. Working closely with the wider business units to support and deliver secure performant and scalable solutions that meet the needs of our ourselves and our clients.


Responsibilities

Work closely with Lead Architect to align technical strategies and execution

Attend and contribute to Product feature review/walkthrough meetings as requested by Engineering Management.

Responsible for contributing to High Level estimation meeting to provide the teams response to requests for High Level Estimation (t-shirt sizing).

Responsible alongside with other Engineering Leads and Architecture leads for validating all incoming requests to ensure they contain the correct level of information to enable the team to respond.

Lead and mentor a team of software lead engineers and junior architects providing technical guidance and best practices.

Design develop and maintain robust and scalable applications using .NET Core.

Implement and optimize SQL Server/Oracle databases for high performance.

Guide the team in building responsive and efficient front-end applications using React (desirable).

Architect design and implement solutions following industry best practices.

Ensure adherence to security compliance and coding standards.

Drive best practices around code coverage code quality and unit testing.

Work in an Agile/Scrum environment engaging in sprint planning stand-ups and retrospectives.

Troubleshoot debug and optimize application performance.

Drive the adoption of modern development practices CI/CD and DevOps methodologies.

Develop and implement software engineering strategies to improve team efficiency and code quality.

Establish and maintain high standards for development practices including automated testing and code reviews.

Manage project timelines deliverables and risks while ensuring high-quality software delivery.

Drive innovation and continuous improvement within the development team.

Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to enhance the software development lifecycle.
