Cognizant collaborates with all major hyperscale’s and relevant software vendors in the data and AI space. This includes partnerships with industry leaders such as AWS, Microsoft, Google, Snowflake, and Databricks. About the role

You as a Delivery Lead in the SDW/GDW (Strategic Data Warehouse/Global Data Warehouse) domain will oversee the successful execution of data-related projects, ensuring timely delivery, quality, and alignment with business objectives.

The Team Lead will play a critical role in managing data initiatives, driving cross-functional collaboration, and ensuring high-quality deliverables in data warehousing and ETL solutions.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, including developers, designers, testers, and business stakeholders.
  • Manage client relationships, acting as the main point of contact for project updates and escalations.
  • Track project progress using tools like Jira, Trello, or MS Project, and ensure transparency through regular reporting.
  • Ensure resource allocation aligns with project needs and adjust as necessary.
  • Facilitate agile ceremonies (e.g., stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives) if working in an Agile environment.
  • Drive continuous improvement by gathering feedback and implementing process enhancements.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational and industry standards, including security and data privacy.
  • Support team development, mentoring team members and fostering a collaborative work environment.

Requirements

  • Data Architecture & Modeling: Understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and data lake architectures.
  • ETL/ELT Processes: Experience designing and managing Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) pipelines using tools like Apache NiFi, Talend, or custom Python/Scala scripts.
  • Cloud Platforms: Proficiency in Azure cloud services
  • Data Integration: Knowledge of integrating data from various sources including APIs, databases, and third-party platforms.
  • Database Management: Strong SQL skills and experience with relational (MSSQL,PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra).
  • Data Governance & Quality: Understanding of data lineage, cataloging, quality checks, and compliance (e.g., GDPR).
  • Monitoring & Logging: Experience with tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or Datadog for system and data pipeline monitoring.
