Cognizant is seeking a skilled Siemens PLC engineer with 4-6 years of relevant experience to support our upcoming PLC projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing, coding, and testing Siemens PLC systems using the TIA portal, with specific experience in the pharmaceutical industry. While expertise in Building Management Systems (BMS) is preferred, we are also open to candidates with experience in Process Control Systems (PCS).
Responsibilities
- Design, Code, and Test Siemens PLC Systems: Utilize the TIA portal to design, code, and test Siemens PLC systems, ensuring they meet project specifications and industry standards.
- Pharmaceutical Industry Experience: Apply your knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry to develop and implement PLC solutions that comply with regulatory requirements and enhance operational efficiency.
- Desigo CC System: Work with the Desigo CC system to integrate and manage building automation and control systems.
- BMS/PCS Expertise: Leverage your expertise in Building Management Systems (BMS) or Process Control Systems (PCS) to support various projects and ensure seamless integration with other systems.
- Hardware Design and Engineering: Design and engineer hardware components for PLC systems, ensuring they are robust, reliable, and meet project requirements.
- Site Support and Troubleshooting: Provide on-site support and troubleshooting for PLC systems, addressing any issues that arise during installation, commissioning, and operation.
- Interface with Other Systems: Ensure PLC systems interface effectively with other systems, including SCADA, HMI, and other automation and control systems.
- Project Execution: Manage and execute PLC projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Requirements
- Experience: 4-6 years of relevant experience in Siemens PLC engineering, with a focus on the pharmaceutical industry.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in using the TIA portal for PLC design, coding, and testing. Experience with the Desigo CC system and BMS/PCS is highly desirable.
- Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to provide effective on-site support.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with clients, project teams, and other stakeholders.
- Project Management: Proven experience in managing and executing PLC projects, with a track record of delivering successful outcomes.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications in Siemens PLC systems, BMS, or PCS.
- Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices in the pharmaceutical industry.
