Role: Legal Content Reviewer (Japanese Speaker)
Location: KL, Malaysia (Onsite)
Project Focus:
Notice and takedown is a process operated by online hosts in response to court orders or allegations that content is illegal. It is widely operated in relation to copyright infringement, as well as for libel and other illegal content online. This project supports removal of content on Clients portal that may violate the online law governed by DMCA.
The Project Objective
- To remove content from client portal that may violate the Law.
- To comply with The Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) policy that governs the internet policy on copyright infringement.
(i) A takedown-notice procedure for copyright holders to request that content be removed; and
(ii) A counter-notice procedure for users to get content re-enabled when content is taken down by mistake.
· Candidates with similar educational background or minimum 2 to 3+ years of experience working in any MNC
· Ability to work both as part of a team as well as independently
· Ability to visualize, articulate, conceptualize or solve both complex and uncomplicated problems by making decisions that are sensible given the available information.
· Proven ability to deliver the highest quality results while paying strict attention to details.
· Ability to work in a fast paced environment with high volume and complex demands.
· Have a strong desire to learn continually as the work is dynamic and keep changing from time to time.
· Should be comfortable and understand that this work will be requiring review of internet content that may be deemed inappropriate and/or contain explicit material.
· Work on relevant bugs as applicable & coordinate with client to close on TAT
· Willing to work in 24x7 environment
· Should be comfortable working with explicit & sensitive content
· Excellent communication skills in the required language (Japanese & English)

· Any Graduate / Law graduate will be given more preference
· To work on various queues and complete the assigned tickets on a daily basis within the TAT.
· Understanding Client’s Internal Copyright Policies and Process.
· Raise bugs as applicable through the ticket life cycle
· Carefully assess, review and evaluate the legal complaints, in order to stimulate whether the allegedly violating copyright content must be considered blocking, removing or restricting access to; as a legal approach to act in accordance with notices of copyright breach.
· Ascertain proper due-diligence and compliance adherence of the legal complaints received for the copyright takedown, legal and Non-legal counter- notices, and Circumvention processes.
· Investigate and examine the copyright removal requests submitted by the copyright owner and the reporting organizations for the appropriate client products to determine the applicability of DMCA
· As a counter-process to copyright take-down notices, the legal and non-legal counter-notices are carefully distinguished and processed accordingly. A detailed validation and examination is followed in order to identify the copyrighted work to decide the restoration of the reported content.
· Share and exchange information with copyright owners, reporting organizations, business partners, legal professionals and government officials- intimating, updating and following up on the legal and compliance procedures.
· To work on the tool and come with innovation ideas
· Flexible to adjust with the timing according to the need of the client
· Review sensitive content, sometimes involving graphic or otherwise disturbing text/videos/images
· Maintain a high degree of confidentiality while meeting strict deadlines
