The Role
Our Energy & Utilities Consulting group is looking for a Sr. Consulting Manager to join our journey.
We’re looking for Sr. Consulting Manager who can deliver within Cognizant’s Five Pillars of Consulting Excellence, which are: 1) Project Execution, 2) Expertise, 3) Business Development, 4) Practice Development, & 5) People Development. As a Sr. Consulting Manager (which is a Sr. Manager level position) this means partnering with clients and project stakeholders, colleagues. Overview:
· Serve as a Principal Consultant in the utilities sector focusing on Geographic Information Systems GIS
· Lead and manage consulting engagements related to utilities GIS projects
· Provide strategic guidance and technical expertise to clients in the utilities industry
Key Responsibilities:
· Client Engagement
· Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients in the utilities sector
· Understand client needs and provide tailored GIS solutions
· Conduct business requirement gathering and analysis for GIS projects
· Project Management
· Lead GIS project teams and ensure timely delivery of project milestones
· Oversee the implementation of GIS solutions ensuring they meet client specifications and industry standards
· Manage project budgets timelines and resources effectively
· Technical Expertise
· Provide technical leadership in GIS technologies and methodologies
· Develop and implement GIS strategies that align with client business goals
· Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in GIS and utilities
· Solution Development
· Design and architect GIS solutions for utilities including Smart Grid and Smart Metering
· Develop proof of concept demonstrations and product selection consulting
· Implement proactive outage and maintenance alert notifications using GIS
· Industry Knowledge
· Identify industry trends and issues affecting the utilities sector
· Handle digital transformation solutions such as Smart Metering Grid network operations and predictive analytics
· Provide insights and recommendations based on industry’s best practices
Required Qualifications:
· Extensive experience in the utilities sector with a focus on GIS
· Proven track record in consulting and project management
· Strong technical expertise in GIS technologies and tools
· Excellent communication and client management skills
· Ability to lead and mentor project teams
· Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS QGIS and other relevant tools
· Familiarity with data analysis tools like SQL Tableau and Power BI
· Knowledge of Smart Grid technologies and Smart Metering systems
Required Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Engineering or Management degree strongly preferred
Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in US without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
Salary and Other Compensation:
Applications will be accepted until May 23rd, 2025.
The annual salary for this position is between $98,853.00 – $158,500.00 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
