Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Infra. Architect with 15 to 18 years of experience in DB2 System Administration. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing implementing and maintaining our database infrastructure ensuring optimal performance and reliability. This role requires a deep understanding of DB2 and its administration along with a strong ability to troubleshoot and optimize database systems.


Responsibilities

  • Design and implement robust database infrastructure to support business applications and services.
  • Oversee the installation configuration and maintenance of DB2 databases.
  • Provide expert-level support for DB2 system administration ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues to minimize downtime and ensure data integrity.
  • Optimize database performance through regular monitoring and tuning.
  • Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to protect data assets.
  • Collaborate with development teams to design and optimize database schemas and queries.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices for database management.
  • Lead efforts to upgrade and patch DB2 systems to maintain support and security.
  • Document database configurations procedures and policies for reference and training.
  • Provide training and support to junior database administrators and other IT staff.
  • Participate in capacity planning and performance forecasting to ensure scalability.
  • Engage with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

  • Qualifications

  • Possess extensive experience in DB2 system administration and database management.
  • Demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve complex database issues.
  • Exhibit proficiency in database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
  • Have a solid understanding of backup and recovery strategies for DB2 databases.
  • Show experience in collaborating with development teams to optimize database designs.
  • Display knowledge of security best practices for database management.
  • Be capable of leading upgrade and patch management efforts for DB2 systems.
  • Have excellent documentation skills for maintaining database configurations and procedures.
  • Be experienced in providing training and support to junior staff.
