Job Title: SQL Server Admin
Responsibilities:
· Ability to integrate data between SQL databases and NON-SQL databases to SQL databases
· Ability to think about a problem, identify what we have and implement solutions to solve the problem independently.
· Work with onsite client team / Application owners in US / UK to Migrate Applications, Database building and Decommissioning.
· Ability to take lead on some projects and works as part of a team (follow another leader on others)
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Ability to think in and out of the box. Come up with service improvement ideas and innovative solutions.
· Self-motivated, conscientious, dedicated individual who works equally well independently or as a member of a team.
· Must be willing to take responsibility and ownership instead of waiting to be assigned work
· The candidate must be willing to provide On-call and weekend support for SQL and MYSQL, the support is rotated among DBA's in US, UK and India
· Enable and support the team in resolving day-to-day production issues, application upgrades and patches, performance analysis, disaster recovery implementation, capacity planning and other activities as may be necessary.
· Work on Change implementations during UK, US business hours & weekends as per change management process
· Documentation & Operational performance reporting
· Own Service Improvements
· Execute on demand IT projects.
· Drive compliance to client and organization processes and policies
· Ensure Quality of deliverables

Skills Requirement
· Mandatory skills - SQL Server & Cloud administration required skills.
· Senior level Microsoft SQL Server DBA with experience in large and critical environments.
· Knowledge of performance tuning at both server level and query level. Candidate must have knowledge of perfmon, SQL Server dynamic management views.
· Knowledge of SQL server internals.
· Knowledge of SQL partitioning and compression
· Hands-on experience on mirroring, replication and Always ON
· Must have automation experience. Good knowledge of scripting. Ability to write T-Sql scripts, Power Shell, or Python.
· Excellent knowledge of SSIS packages.
· Hands-on experience on SQL Server Clustering.
· Hands-on experience on Integration Services, Reporting services and Analysis services
· Must have good knowledge in SQL Server permission/security policies.
· At least 6 months experience with AWS Cloud RDS
Good to have skills
· MySQL knowledge / experience.
· Linux Knowledge.
· Experience with Cloud services like Azure
· Experience with Snowflake
Certifications Desired: MS certifications on MSSQL latest versions.
Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $99,000 - $116,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and is subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
