Senior Java Full Stack Developer
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Java Full Stack Developer who will be responsible for designing and architecting high-performance Java-based enterprise systems. They work closely with business stakeholders’ software developers and IT teams to create scalable, secure and efficient solutions. This role involves defining architecture guidelines ensuring adherence to best practices and making technology decisions to align with long-term business objectives.

Location: New Jersey - NJ or NYC, NY
*Candidate is required to be in the office 3 days a week*
Roles/ Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable and high-performance Java applications using advanced Java technologies and frameworks.
- Develop and manage REST API, microservices using Spring Boot.
- Build and deploy containerized applications using Docker in a cloud-native environment.
- Implement event-driven architecture and work with Kafka and MQ for real-time messaging and event management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Design and develop responsive, high-performance web applications using Angular.
- Implement reusable, maintainable, and scalable UI components.
- Collaborate with backend developers and other teams to ensure seamless integration with APIs.
- Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs and optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
- Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code following best practices.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve UI-related issues to enhance the user experience.
Required qualifications:
- 7 + years of hands-on experience in Java 17+ development with a strong understanding of advanced Java concepts.
- Proficiency in building REST API, microservices using latest Spring Boot 3.3.5.
- Hands-on experience with Docker for containerization and working in a cloud-native environment.
- Strong expertise in the latest Kafka and MQ for message queuing and event-driven systems.
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in frontend development with a strong focus on Angular.
- Solid understanding of latest Angular 19+, latest Typescript version.
- Experience with TypeScript and building scalable Angular applications.
- Proficiency in state management libraries such as NgRx or RxJS.
- Familiarity with responsive design principles and mobile-first design.
- Knowledge of RESTful APIs and integrating UI with backend services.
- Experience with version control tools like Git.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
- Solid understanding of relational and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with version control tools such as Git and familiarity with Agile methodologies.
Other Compensations:
Applications will be accepted until May 1st, 2025.
The annual salary for this position is between $68,422K– $114,000K depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
