Data Engineer - Snowflake and AWS

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Snowflake and AWS Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing data solutions using Snowflake and AWS. In this role you can expect to:

  • Proficiency in SQL: Write complex queries and optimize them for performance within the Snowflake environment.
  • Data Modelling Expertise: Design efficient data models tailored to Snowflake's architecture.
  • ETL and ELT: Manage data extraction, transformation, and loading into Snowflake from various sources.
  • Cloud Computing Skills: Utilize AWS services, particularly S3, to support Snowflake's cloud-native platform.
  • Performance Tuning: Optimize Snowflake settings to balance performance and cost.
  • Snowflake-Specific Knowledge: Leverage Snowflake's unique features, such as handling semi-structured data, data sharing, and security.
  • Data Compliance and Security: Ensure data security and compliance with industry standards.
  • Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to meet data-driven business objectives.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest Snowflake features and best practices.

To apply for this role, your soft skills, expertise and experience should include:

  • Proven track record of data migration and optimization within Snowflake.
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake features
  • Strong grasp of SQL and ability to write, optimize, and troubleshoot queries.
  • Experience with data modelling and cloud computing environments, specifically AWS and S3.
  • Understanding of data compliance and security best practices.
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical specifications.
  • Experience in performance tuning and cost optimization in a cloud data platform.
  • Analytical Thinking: Analyze complex data patterns and optimize data storage and retrieval.
  • Problem-Solving: Efficiently troubleshoot issues within the Snowflake platform.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensure data accuracy and quality.
  • Adaptability: Keep up with new features and best practices as Snowflake evolves.
  • Collaboration: Work effectively with cross-functional teams, including data analysts and data engineers.
  • Effective Communication: Clearly explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
