About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Specialist with 8 to 10 years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in cloud technologies and container management focusing on Google Cloud Platform services. This role involves working in a hybrid model ensuring seamless cloud operations and contributing to innovative solutions that drive our companies success.

In this role, you will:

  • Oversee the migration of applications to containers ensuring efficient and secure deployment across cloud environments.
  • Manage cloud source repositories to maintain code integrity and facilitate seamless collaboration among development teams.
  • Utilize container registry and container analysis tools to enhance security and streamline container management processes.
  • Implement cloud deploy strategies to automate and optimize application deployment cycles reducing time-to-market.
  • Monitor and manage cloud operations suite to ensure high availability and performance of cloud services.
  • Leverage artifact registry to store and manage build artifacts ensuring consistency and reliability in deployment.
  • Utilize cloud build tools to automate the build and release process enhancing productivity and reducing errors.
  • Deploy and manage applications using cloud run ensuring scalability and efficient resource utilization.
  • Administer Google Kubernetes Engine to orchestrate containerized applications ensuring robust and scalable solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement cloud-native solutions that align with business objectives.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to team members fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Conduct regular performance assessments and optimizations to ensure cloud infrastructure meets evolving business needs.
  • Stay updated with the latest cloud technologies and trends to drive innovation and maintain competitive advantage.

Work model:

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is an onsite position requiring 5 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Saint Loui, MO.

What you need to have to be considered

  • Possess a strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and containerization technologies.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Google Cloud Platform services particularly in container management and deployment.
  • Exhibit excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure issues.
  • Have experience in automating cloud operations and implementing CI/CD pipelines.
  • Show strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Display a proactive approach to learning and adapting to new technologies and methodologies.
  • Hold a relevant certification such as Google Professional Cloud Architect or equivalent.

Salary and Other Compensation:

Applications will be accepted until July 10, 2025.

The annual salary for this position is between $79,000 to $92,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
