About the role
As an Automation Test Engineer, you will make an impact by designing, building, and executing automated testing solutions for healthcare payer systems, with a strong focus on Facets applications. You will be a valued member of the quality engineering team and work collaboratively with QA, development, and business stakeholders to ensure reliable, high-quality end-to-end healthcare workflows.
In this role, you will:

Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium and WebDriver to validate Facets UI-based business workflows.
Build and enhance scalable test automation frameworks (data-driven, keyword-driven, or hybrid) aligned with Facets architecture.
Develop and execute automated regression test suites across critical Facets modules, including Claims, Membership, Provider, and Billing.
Automate validation of batch jobs, file processing, interfaces, and end-to-end integrations to improve coverage and efficiency.
Integrate automation execution with CI/CD pipelines and test management tools to support continuous testing.
Manage automation test data strategies, including data creation, masking, refresh processes, and environment readiness.

What you need to have to be considered

4–6 years of experience in test automation and software testing.
2–4+ years of experience working with healthcare payer systems.
3–5+ years of hands-on automation experience with Facets applications.
Strong experience automating business workflows using Selenium, WebDriver, and related tools.
Solid understanding of healthcare business rules, claims processing, and data validation.
Experience tracking and managing defects using tools such as ALM or Jira.

These will help you stand out

Experience with cloud migration testing or modernized healthcare platforms.
Strong background in end-to-end (E2E) and integration testing.
Experience integrating automation results into CI/CD pipelines.
Ability to analyze automation failures, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate closely with developers.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with a proactive mindset toward quality improvement.

The annual salary for this position will be in the range of $110K - $125K depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
