Responsibilities
Design scalable microservices based applications that meet complex functional requirements while ensuring high availability performance and security across enterprise environmentsDevelop robust backend services using Java 17 Java 8 and Spring Boot that integrate with SQL Server databases and support high volume transactional workloadsImplement clean modular and testable code structures that adhere to internal standards and industry best practices to improve long term maintainabilityOptimize SQL Server queries schemas and indexes to enhance application responsiveness reduce resource consumption and improve overall data reliabilityCollaborate with product owners architects and cross functional teams to refine requirements estimate work and deliver features on predictable schedules in a hybrid work setupConduct detailed code reviews that provide constructive feedback improve coding quality and promote consistent engineering patterns across the teamCreate and maintain automated unit and integration tests that increase coverage support regression detection and strengthen confidence in each releaseTroubleshoot complex production issues by analyzing logs metrics and database behavior to quickly identify root causes and implement durable fixesImplement secure coding practices across microservices including input validation error handling and proper data access patterns to protect sensitive informationContribute to continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines that streamline builds automated testing and deployments for microservices and database changesDocument service contracts data models and operational runbooks in a clear and accessible manner to support efficient knowledge sharing and onboardingMentor less experienced engineers by sharing technical insights pairing on complex tasks and demonstrating effective problem solving approaches in daily workEngage in capacity planning and performance tuning discussions to ensure services can scale with business growth while controlling infrastructure costsParticipate in design discussions that evaluate tradeoffs among performance reliability and delivery speed to propose balanced technical solutionsCoordinate with support and operations teams during releases and incident responses to reduce downtime and improve user experience for business stakeholdersAdvocate for engineering improvements such as refactoring modernization and observability enhancements that provide measurable long term benefits
Qualifications
Demonstrate strong hands on expertise in Java 17 and Java 8 with a solid understanding of object oriented design principles concurrency and memory managementShow proven experience building and deploying Spring Boot based microservices that communicate through well defined APIs and handle resilient interservice communicationApply advanced SQL Server skills including stored procedures query tuning and schema design to support reliable transactional and analytical workloadsExhibit familiarity with containerization and orchestration concepts for deploying microservices along with practice using version control and build toolsDisplay effective communication and collaboration skills suited to a hybrid work model including clear written updates and proactive coordination with distributed teammatesBring prior experience working on enterprise scale applications between eight and ten years with a consistent focus on quality security and maintainability
