Job Summary
Infra Dev Specialist role in a global organization focused on building reliable observability and monitoring solutions using Grafana Dynatrace and Splunk. The role requires eight to ten years of experience in infrastructure engineering and automation with responsibilities centered on designing dashboards creating monitoring pipelines and optimizing system performance for critical business services.
Responsibilities
- Design monitoring solutions that transform raw infrastructure and application telemetry into meaningful insights by using Grafana Dynatrace and Splunk ensuring reliable visibility for business critical platforms.
- Develop and maintain standardized dashboards and visualizations that help operations and product teams quickly understand service health performance trends and capacity risks across on premises and cloud environments.
- Implement automated alerting strategies that minimize noise while rapidly detecting incidents using dynamic thresholds synthetic tests and user experience metrics to protect key customer journeys.
- Optimize data collection pipelines by defining log metric and trace ingestion patterns that balance observability depth with storage and licensing efficiency across multiple environments.
- Collaborate with infrastructure application and security stakeholders to understand monitoring requirements and translate them into robust observability solutions that support organizational objectives.
- Troubleshoot complex performance and stability issues by correlating metrics logs and traces and work with relevant teams to identify root causes and implement permanent corrective actions.
- Document standards runbooks and operating procedures for monitoring tools so that support teams can consistently operate dashboards alerts and analytics in a repeatable manner.
- Enhance platform reliability through proactive capacity planning utilization analysis and trend forecasting using observability data to recommend scaling and optimization actions.
- Automate recurring operational tasks such as dashboard deployment alert configuration and data source onboarding through scripts and infrastructure as code practices that align with internal governance.
- Coordinate with project teams during releases and infrastructure changes to ensure that new services are instrumented monitored and validated with appropriate dashboards and alerts before entering production.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory expectations by defining observability configurations that protect sensitive information while still enabling effective monitoring and diagnostics.
- Provide knowledge transfer and mentoring to peers by sharing best practices on effective use of Grafana Dynatrace and Splunk helping teams build a strong data driven culture.
- Continuously evaluate new features and improvements in observability tools and recommend enhancements that increase resilience efficiency and customer satisfaction for enterprise systems.
Qualifications
- Require eight to ten years of hands on experience in infrastructure engineering or site reliability roles with a strong focus on monitoring observability and operational excellence.
- Require advanced practical expertise in Grafana including dashboard creation data source configuration and alert rule definition across complex distributed environments.
- Require strong experience with Dynatrace for full stack monitoring including configuration of services dashboards problem detection and integration with existing workflows.
- Require deep exposure to Splunk for log management data onboarding search queries dashboards and creation of meaningful alerts that support incident investigations.
- Require solid background in Linux or Windows server administration networking fundamentals and troubleshooting of applications hosted on virtualized or cloud platforms.
- Require experience with scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell to automate monitoring configurations data transformations and integration tasks.
- Nice to have familiarity with infrastructure as code tools and configuration management platforms to manage consistent deployment of monitoring and observability assets.
- Nice to have exposure to performance testing capacity modeling and reliability engineering practices that support continuous improvement of service health.
- Nice to have experience working within large multinational organizations where collaboration across time zones and functions is critical for delivering reliable technology services.
