About the role
As a Salesforce Developer / SDET (Automation & AI), you will make an impact by designing and delivering high-quality, scalable testing solutions across Salesforce and AI-driven ecosystems. You will be a valued member of the Quality Engineering team and work collaboratively with product managers, developers, UX designers, and cloud teams to ensure seamless and high-quality feature delivery.
In this role, you will:
Design and build automation frameworks, integration tests, and end-to-end testing solutions with a strong quality-first mindset
Conduct code and design reviews, mentoring developers and junior SDETs to uphold engineering best practices
Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and UX teams to ensure quality across the entire development lifecycle
Develop and execute comprehensive test strategies including functional, integration, regression, and cross-cloud testing
Validate complex backend systems, APIs, and distributed architectures, ensuring reliability and scalability
Work with Salesforce platform architecture (Sales Cloud/Lightning) to design effective test scenarios
Test and validate AI-driven workflows, agent-based systems, and dependencies within Salesforce and integrated ecosystems

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 2–3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Hartford, CT. What you need to have to be considered
Salesforce Platform Developer I (PD1) Certification (mandatory)
Agentforce Specialist Certification (mandatory)
3–5 years of hands-on experience with Salesforce technologies including Apex, SOQL, Visualforce, Lightning components, workflows, and integrations
1+ year of experience with Salesforce Lightning Web Components (LWC) development
Strong programming skills in Apex, Java, and JavaScript
Experience with Salesforce tools such as Force.com IDE, Apex Data Loader, ANT, and AutoRABIT
1+ year of experience in test automation frameworks and modern QA tools
2+ years of experience in API testing, data validation, and distributed systems testing
Experience building and validating Agentforce-based AI agents
These will help you stand out
Experience using AI-driven testing tools (e.g., test generation, anomaly detection, synthetic data)
Hands-on experience in validating AI workflows and agent-based architecture
Familiarity with Salesforce Test Center
Strong understanding of cloud-based architecture and cross-platform integrations
Ability to troubleshoot and test complex enterprise systems with multiple dependencies

Salary and Other Compensation
The annual salary for this position is between $53,477 to $104,500, depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
