Data Platform Architect (AWS / Snowflake / ETL)

Location: Hartford, CT (Hybrid – 3 days in office)
Employment Type: Full-time


About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data AWS Architect to design and deliver scalable, cloud-native data and analytics solutions. In this role, you will lead the architecture and implementation of modern data platforms, enabling advanced analytics and AI-driven outcomes for enterprise and customer needs.

You will partner with cross-functional teams to define technical standards, guide development teams, and ensure the delivery of secure, resilient, and high-performing solutions on AWS.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design and architect scalable data and AI platforms leveraging modern cloud technologies
  • Define and enforce technical standards, best practices, and governance for data engineering and analytics solutions
  • Lead the design and implementation of cloud-native data pipelines (ETL/ELT)
  • Provide hands-on guidance to engineering teams on architecture, development, and deployment
  • Build and optimize data workflows using AWS services and distributed processing frameworks
  • Ensure solutions are secure, resilient, and cost-efficient, aligned with enterprise standards
  • Translate business and technical requirements into scalable data solutions
  • Drive innovation in data architecture to improve performance, scalability, and accessibility

Required Qualifications

  • Strong experience with AWS-based data engineering and analytics solutions
  • Hands-on expertise in AWS Glue (ETL/ELT) and/or Ab Initio ETL tools
  • Deep understanding of:
    • Amazon S3 (storage, partitioning, lifecycle management)
    • Parquet file formats and query optimization
    • AWS Lambda for event-driven processing
  • Experience working with cloud databases such as:
    • Snowflake
    • Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL
  • Solid knowledge of:
    • AWS Step Functions and orchestration/scheduling frameworks
    • Python and PySpark for large-scale data processing
  • Proven ability to design scalable, distributed data architectures

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building enterprise data lake / lakehouse architectures
  • Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance frameworks
  • Exposure to AI/ML data pipelines and analytics enablement
  • Strong consulting and stakeholder engagement skills

Work Model

This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring 3 days per week onsite in Hartford, CT.


Compensation

salary range: $110,000 – $130,000 base salary
