Location: Little Rock, Arkansas (ONSITE, 5 times a week)

Cognizant is seeking a Linux Administrator to join our dynamic team.

What you’ll do in the role:

  • Provide advanced administration and support for Linux environments (primarily Red Hat Enterprise Linux) including system installation, configuration, patching, and troubleshooting.
  • Manage and administer VMware ESX / vSphere 8 Enterprise environments, including VM provisioning, monitoring, performance tuning, and issue resolution.
  • Perform hands-on data center operations support, including hardware troubleshooting, system deployments, and infrastructure maintenance.
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity, ensuring high reliability and uptime of infrastructure services.
  • Implement and maintain security controls and access management systems such as BoKS and Centrify/Delinea.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (network, storage, application teams) to ensure seamless infrastructure operations and support.
  • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and perform root cause analysis for incidents impacting system availability.
  • Support system upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure transformation initiatives within the data center.
  • Maintain documentation of system configurations, procedures, and operational runbooks.

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Strong expertise in Linux Administration (RHEL preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with VMware ESX / vSphere 8 Enterprise.
  • Proven experience in data center operations with on-site support responsibilities.
  • Experience with access management tools such as BoKS and Centrify/Delinea.
  • Solid understanding of system monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.

  • Experience working in enterprise production environment with high availability requirement.
