Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior/Lead .NET Developer with strong leadership experience to design, develop, and deliver resilient, high-throughput, and scalable enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will lead development teams, drive technical excellence, and build modern cloud-native solutions using Microsoft technologies and event-driven architectures.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of developers, ensuring high-quality deliverables and adherence to best practices
- Design and develop scalable, high-performance, and resilient applications using .NET Core and C#
- Architect and implement microservices-based solutions with focus on fault tolerance and scalability
- Build and optimize high-throughput systems capable of handling large volumes of transactions and data
- Design and implement event-driven architectures using Kafka, ensuring reliability, durability, and performance
- Develop and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes, leveraging auto-scaling capabilities
- Deploy and maintain applications in Microsoft Azure cloud environment, utilizing cloud-native scalability features
- Implement resiliency patterns such as retries, circuit breakers, bulkheads, and graceful degradation
- Design systems for horizontal scaling, load balancing, and distributed processing
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment processes
- Ensure system observability, monitoring, and performance tuning
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (architects, product owners, DevOps) to deliver solutions
- Drive adoption of modern development practices including AI-assisted coding tools (Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude)
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 8+ years of software development experience, with strong expertise in .NET Core and C#
- Proven experience in technical leadership or team lead roles
- Strong experience with SQL Server, database design, indexing, and performance tuning for high-volume systems
- Hands-on experience with Entity Framework / EF Core
- Demonstrated experience building highly scalable, resilient, and distributed systems
- Strong knowledge of microservices architecture, REST APIs, and asynchronous messaging patterns
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes, including scaling and orchestration
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines for enterprise-grade applications
- Hands-on experience with event-driven systems and platforms like Kafka (partitioning, consumer groups, throughput tuning)
- Familiarity with modern AI development tools (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude)
- Strong problem-solving and system design skills
Experience with observability tools (Application Insights, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.)
Compensation: - Base Salary + COLA and this position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans. Application will be accepted by 7/30/2026
