Cognizant Consulting is more than Cognizant's consulting practice. We are a global community of 5,000+ experts dedicated to helping clients reimagine their business. Blending deep industry knowledge with technology advisory capabilities, we create innovative business solutions for Fortune 500 clients. Now, we are looking for our next colleague to help shape the future of business. Could it be you?
About the role
As a Solution Architect, you will make an impact by validating and completing the solution architecture for the Online Crime Centre programme. You will turn discovery outputs into verified high-level and low-level designs, support alpha delivery, and establish a robust architectural foundation for beta. You will work collaboratively with programme stakeholders, architecture communities, development and DevOps teams, and client governance forums.
In this role, you will:
- Validate, develop and complete high-level and low-level solution designs, building on discovery-phase outputs and aligning artefacts with programme tooling, governance and Home Office standards.
- Identify and close gaps in discovery outputs by gathering information, facilitating workshops, assessing options and analysing technical documentation.
- Guide architecture decisions through peer reviews, design forums and technical design authorities, recording key decisions and building stakeholder consensus.
- Partner hands-on with alpha-phase development and DevOps teams to explain agreed architectures, incorporate delivery feedback and evolve designs as evidence emerges.
- Shape requirements for future procurement and development activity, while identifying architecture risks, recommending mitigations and informing the technology strategy for later phases.
Work model
We strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role's business requirements, this is a remote, home-based position with occasional travel to Home Office sites in London or Croydon. Regardless of your working arrangement, we are here to support a healthy work-life balance through our various wellbeing programmes.
The working arrangements for this role are accurate as of the date of posting. They may change based on the project you are engaged in, as well as business and client requirements. We will always be clear about role expectations.
What you must have to be considered
- Demonstrated experience delivering solution architecture across large, complex IT landscapes in regulated or critical environments.
- Broad architecture experience spanning cloud, distributed, monolithic, ETL, cross-platform and cross-organisational integration patterns.
- Ability to take ownership of architecture initiated by others, quickly assess gaps and drive work through to clear, evidence-based conclusions.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence senior stakeholders, navigate conflict and reach consensus on complex or contentious architecture decisions.
- Experience managing and documenting key design decisions, with a good understanding of PPPT reference architecture and governance processes.
These will help you succeed
- Practical experience working alongside development and DevOps teams during alpha or iterative delivery phases.
- Strong facilitation, options-analysis and problem-solving skills, with the ability to distil complex discussions into clear decisions and actions.
- Experience developing architecture artefacts that support procurement, future development and technology strategy.
- Confidence organizing work, managing people and communicating effectively across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Existing NPPV3 clearance, or the ability and willingness to obtain it, together with the required SC clearance.
Security clearance: Active SC and NPPV3 clearance, or the willingness and ability to obtain both, is essential.
