P&L Performance Management Framework Business Analyst
About the Role
We are seeking a highly analytical and commercially minded P&L Performance Management Framework Business Analyst to support a large-scale Finance Transformation programme.
This role will play a pivotal role in defining and operationalising a modern Performance Management Framework that enables business leaders to understand profitability, cost drivers, and performance across multiple dimensions including Business Unit, Geography, Customer, Product, Contract, and Project.
The successful candidate will work closely with Finance Leadership, Business Unit leaders, Transformation teams, ERP architects, and reporting stakeholders to establish a scalable profitability and performance management model that supports executive decision-making, accountability, and long-term value creation.
This is not a traditional reporting or business analyst role. It requires an individual capable of combining management accounting expertise, business architecture thinking, financial analysis, and stakeholder influence to help define the future operating model for enterprise performance management.
Role Purpose
The transformation programme seeks to establish a robust Performance Management Framework that supports:
• Contract, Customer, Product, and Project profitability visibility
• Cost transparency and accountability
• Strategic and operational KPI measurement
• Executive and Board-level performance reporting
• Alignment between Finance, Business Operations, and Technology platforms
As a key member of the Transformation Team, you will help rationalise existing reporting dimensions, define future-state structures, establish ownership models, and ensure performance metrics can be effectively delivered through the target ERP and reporting architecture.
Key Responsibilities
Performance Management Framework Design
• Analyse the current performance management landscape and develop recommendations for a streamlined, scalable framework that accurately reflects business performance and profitability drivers
• Assess existing reporting dimensions, business structures, and profitability models to identify rationalisation and simplification opportunities while preserving meaningful management insight
• Design the future-state Performance Management Framework and define relationships between Business Unit, Geography, Customer, Product, Contract, and Project dimensions
• Define governance principles and ownership models supporting sustainable performance measurement
Profitability & Cost Transparency Enablement
• Support the design of profitability frameworks that provide meaningful visibility across contracts, customers, products, projects, and services
• Establish consistent principles for cost allocation, attribution, profitability measurement, and management reporting
• Collaborate with Finance and Business stakeholders to ensure metrics align with strategic objectives and operational accountability
• Develop recommendations that improve transparency, decision-making, and business performance management
KPI Framework & Value Realisation
• Define, document, and maintain strategic and operational KPI frameworks
• Establish baseline measurements and target-state performance indicators aligned to transformation objectives
• Support development of a Value Realisation Framework linking business outcomes to organisational, process, and technology changes
• Ensure traceability between executive dashboards, operational reporting, and transactional-level detail
Business Analysis & Stakeholder Alignment
• Facilitate workshops and structured working sessions with Finance Leadership, Business Unit leaders, Global Process Owners, and Transformation teams
• Translate complex financial, management reporting, and performance management concepts into clear business language suitable for executive audiences
• Develop business cases, impact assessments, options papers, recommendations, and decision-support materials
• Drive alignment across stakeholders with competing priorities and reporting requirements
• Support governance forums and transformation decision-making processes
ERP & Reporting Alignment
• Partner closely with ERP, Finance Systems, Data, and Reporting teams to ensure the future-state framework can be operationalised effectively
• Define business requirements and traceability supporting:
• Oracle ERP design
• Reporting and analytics architecture
• Cost transparency initiatives
• Profitability reporting frameworks
• Enterprise performance management capabilities
Required Skills & Qualifications
Finance & Performance Management Expertise
• Strong expertise in Performance Management, Management Reporting, FP&A, Finance Transformation, and Business Performance Analysis
• Deep understanding of:
• Management Accounting
• Cost Transparency
• Profitability Analysis
• Financial Performance Measurement
• Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
• Experience designing, implementing, or rationalising multi-dimensional profitability and performance reporting frameworks
Business Transformation Experience
• Proven experience supporting enterprise-wide transformation programmes
• Ability to evaluate current-state operating models and design future-state performance frameworks
• Experience operating within complex, global organisations with multiple reporting dimensions
• Strong business architecture and operating model design capabilities
Technology & Systems Knowledge
• Understanding of ERP-enabled finance transformation programmes
• Familiarity with enterprise reporting, analytics, and performance management environments
• Experience working alongside ERP, Data, Reporting, and Architecture teams
• Knowledge of Oracle ERP, Oracle Cloud, EPM, OneStream, or similar enterprise platforms is advantageous
Preferred Qualifications
• Chartered Accountant (CA), CIMA, ACCA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional qualification
• MBA in Finance, Strategy, Business Management, or related discipline
• Experience within Big Four or Tier-1 consulting organisations
• Experience with Oracle Cloud ERP, Oracle EPM, OneStream, or enterprise performance management platforms
• Experience within technology, infrastructure, telecommunications, aviation, or complex service-based organisations
