We are seeking a highly skilled Senior QA Automation Engineer with strong experience in Playwright, API testing, and mobile test automation using Appium. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable automation frameworks for web, mobile, and backend services, ensuring high-quality software delivery across Agile teams.
This role requires hands-on technical expertise, a quality-first mindset, and the ability to collaborate effectively with developers, business analysts, product owners, and DevOps teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks using Playwright.
- Create and execute automated tests for Web UI, REST APIs, and Mobile Applications.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts for iOS and Android applications using Appium.
- Build and execute API automation suites using tools and frameworks such as Postman, Rest Assured, Playwright API, or similar.
- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing.
- Participate in test strategy, test planning, and estimation activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams to ensure quality throughout the SDLC.
- Analyze test results, identify defects, and support root cause investigations.
- Improve automation coverage, execution efficiency, and framework maintainability.
- Ensure adherence to QA best practices, coding standards, and automation governance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance and Test Automation.
- Strong hands-on experience with Playwright.
- Experience with TypeScript or JavaScript.
- Proven experience in API Testing and API Automation.
- Hands-on experience with Appium for mobile test automation.
- Experience testing native, hybrid, and mobile web applications.
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, JSON, and HTTP protocols.
- Experience with source control systems such as Git.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, or similar cloud testing platforms.
- Knowledge of BDD frameworks such as Cucumber.
- Experience with performance testing tools.
- Exposure to accessibility and security testing.
- Experience working in enterprise-scale applications.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted testing and automation accelerators.
